“Try the Swedish Pancakes, skip the rest.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 20, 2013

The place is a standard issue diner with random decor and furniture. The bathrooms are outdoors. The orange juice was hailed as amazing, but was entirely too sweet and lacked acidity to give it more taste. The hash, although lauded on yelp, was out of a can. The only truly tasty breakfast dishes, and my party of five ordered a variety, was the Swedish pancakes. These pancakes are more like thick crepes, rolled into rolls with preserves in the middle. I highly recommend this dish if you are eating here. Although, I am sure there are more delectable breakfast places in San Jose.

“For omelettes, this place is the best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 11, 2013

For breakfast in general, this place is very good. For omelettes, this place is the best. The have an excellet and unique variety of omelettes. I have tried the Dolan and the Beisler. Both were great. My wife loves the french toast.
This is definnetly a locals favorite. It is decorated with a lot of what appears to be personal mmeorabilia. The seating a a bit cramped, but the service is good and the coffee just right.
The address is on Saratoga Ave, but it is actually behind the Rotton Robbie's gas station at Saratoga and Williams.

“Best omelet I've ever had”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 24, 2012 via mobile

This place is great. The "marquardt" was the best omelet I've ever had, the coffee was delicious, the staff were very friendly, and the service was fast. If you haven't been here yet, do yourself a favor and check it out. Do not let the run down building scare you off, the food here is top notch.

“Don't let the outside scare you away”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 23, 2012

The building looks like a old barn, and not that well maintained. Inside, the atmosphere is a bustling, dish-clanking, old-style restaurant. We've been for breakfast several times, and it can get really crowded. But, they do server you quickly and move you out of there as soon as you're done. Not the friendliest service, but quick and efficient. We keep going back because the quality of the food is very good and the prices are fair. My favorite is the banana pancakes, which truly have the aroma and taste of fresh bananas. Currently, it's only open until 2pm, so plan on breakfast or brunch.

“Family style and friendly”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 10, 2012

This is a good restaurant to go for comfort food. Everything we had was served quickly, was tasty and were good portions. The servers are all pleasant and effecient. They put a lot of people in there but it's acceptable in this Red Barn Hamburger restaurant conversion. We had absolutely no complaints about the coffee (and I'm picky) anything being too salty, bland, cool on delivery or anything. I'm going back for sure.
