“Yum!”
Reviewed September 16, 2013

When you walk in, it looks like an old parlor-style pizza place and bar... Do not be fooled. Their pizzas are like no other pizzas I've had. They place the toppings UNDER the cheese. The flavors of the toppings seep into the sauce, making one delicious pizza. They cut the pizza into small square pieces, so not every piece has crust. They also have pastas, sandwiches, and more. The pepperoni is a little spicy, so be prepared if you're a "lightweight" when it comes to spicy foods.

Must try:
the "Confusion" pizza and their veggie pizza

“Very unorganized”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

Kukar's House of Pizza is located only 2 blks from the San Jose Performing Arts Center however.....

I was attending an all day conference with a timed dinner break. I called our order 30 mins prior to arrival. The place was unorganized, clueless to what orders belonged to what table, staff bumping into each other, taking orders to wrong tables, total chaos. It took 4 staff to finally get our pizza as each one forget. It arrived to our table with many apologies 30 mins after we arrived....a total of a 1 hr wait. I had it packed to go and the owner added other food items and again apologies.

Don't use the restroom unless you want a flashback of a gas station bathrm. I had plenty of time to look around....dirty floors, chipped paint.

We ate in my car and the pizza was REALLY GOOD.

“Great pizza as always”
Reviewed April 5, 2013

Great pizza as always. Atmosphere is a collection of memorabilia that the owners have collected over the years. This place is uniquely San Jose. It is not fancy. Not the place to take a first date. But the food is good and the people a friendly and genuine.

Was told to go here because they have a pizza called George's special, with gound beef, onion and jalapenos...it was delicious and I loved the atmosphere!

“Get it while it's hot”
Reviewed August 26, 2012

This place used to be downtown, but it is still almost downtown. The ambiance is not quite as nice as is used to be, but they did get bigger and moved all the novelties to the new location, about ten or so years ago. This place is the best when you eat it there. It is kind of like Pizza Hut's crust, only on steroids. You have to get it hot, crunchy, flaky, toasty and pastry like, all at once. It is still good cold the next day, but not quite the same. I miss you guys.
