Emile's offers a cosy French ambiance, which feels and tastes like true French cuisine. It is intimate, and until May 15th, they have this exhibit of a French artist called "3 days in Paris". Stunning photographs to match great food. A must see.

I'd like to be able to say how good the food was, or how attentive the service was, but the unfortunate fact is that we didn't even make it inside.

I had made a reservation for Valentine's Day more than 2 weeks in advance - but it looks like Emile's doesn't deal well with 'popularity'... We arrived just before 8PM and entered the small entrance area, only to be greeted by a shoulder to shoulder crowd of sour faces. When I let the lady at the desk know we had an 8PM reservation I was given no indication of when a table might become available, but we weren't hopeful. As the minutes passed only a handful of diners left, and a smaller number of those waiting were ushered in. During this time there was still no communication with the increasingly hungry crowd.

After 15 minutes huddled in a corner we decided to leave. It's clear that reservations for that very busy evening were not handled well at all. This unfortunately makes us reluctant to pay them a return visit, given their clear disdain for potential customers.

This is dining at its best!!

This restaurant has been there since the 70s and there is quite a few stories you can hear about the good ol' days when this wasn't the best part of town.

The decor of the small restaurant is a little dated but this is what gives this restaurant the charm.

Food was fantastic!!!!!

Our starters were the Filo Flower Pot with Goat cheese and the Foie Gras both of which were excellent.

Main courses were the Trout (nicely crisp in a delicious lemon sauce) and the Grilled Lamb Chops.

We finished it off with Chocolate Decadence.

The waiters are knowledgable, very attentive and super friendly.

All in all a great dining experience; we will be back soon

I've been twice in this restaurant with my family and surely can say this is the best in San Jose, CA. The food is great, beautiful decoration. It's operated by its owner-swiss chef Emile. I highly recommend this restaurant when visiting San Jose.
