I'd like to be able to say how good the food was, or how attentive the service was, but the unfortunate fact is that we didn't even make it inside.
I had made a reservation for Valentine's Day more than 2 weeks in advance - but it looks like Emile's doesn't deal well with 'popularity'... We arrived just before 8PM and entered the small entrance area, only to be greeted by a shoulder to shoulder crowd of sour faces. When I let the lady at the desk know we had an 8PM reservation I was given no indication of when a table might become available, but we weren't hopeful. As the minutes passed only a handful of diners left, and a smaller number of those waiting were ushered in. During this time there was still no communication with the increasingly hungry crowd.
After 15 minutes huddled in a corner we decided to leave. It's clear that reservations for that very busy evening were not handled well at all. This unfortunately makes us reluctant to pay them a return visit, given their clear disdain for potential customers.
