just go, the garlic bread is OMG the best everrrrrrr, the meat is awesome too...the restaurant itself is very 60's style, the kind you'd never see around bay area. Mushrooms are good too=]

“Goooood BBQ”
Reviewed September 12, 2012

I took a friend here over the weekend. It was crowded, but we didn't have to wait too long to order. My friend had a steak and enjoyed it. I had ribs. They were OK, but not great. The noise level would keep me from going back. We had a hard time hearing each other across a small table.

“Not All That”
Reviewed September 10, 2012

Food is mediocre.. better bbq at Sam's on Bascom, or even Armadillo Willy's... or trek to Dickey's... Ribs were tough and tasteless; went for lunch. The way people talk about it, I was expecting something spectacular.. hardly.

“The Ultimate Dive”
Reviewed September 3, 2012

Henry's has to be experienced, that is it. Typically before a Sharks game but anytime really, this place is packed!!

Step into the bar, wade thru the crowd, grab a number and a beer and wait. They take your order standing, then you grab a table and eat. The steaks are great and the atmosphere is what you would expect from a place like this that has survived in spite of the offbeat location and shady neighborhood.

A San Jose original.

“My favorite restaurant in town”
Reviewed August 22, 2012

It's not terribly fancy, the menu is on the wall and you order before you're seated, but this place is great! Delicious ribs, steaks and chops, old school salads in wooden bowls and a big ol' fire in the corner for cooking. I never go to San Jose without a trip to Henry's! Warning - it is very crowed most nights (especially when the Sharks are in town), but if you don't mind a short wait at the bar, you'll love the food!
