I typically stay at the Moorpark when I go to San Jose, but after my last trip it was apparent that the service there was beginning to slip...badly. So for this trip I searched around and found this one. It wound up being a very good decision. The hotel is brand new, as are the neighboring stores. The hotel is located near several corporate headquarters such as ebay, and would be great for business trips. There is a refrigerator in the room, free breakfast (though I did not eat at the hotel), and it basically shares a parking lot with a new Target, and several quick dining options.

The interior of the hotel itself reminds me of the new hotels popping up in Vegas. Modern, fresh, trendy but classy. The room was small, but tastefully decorated while maintaining the "hip" factor. The bed was very comfortable. So much so that upon checking out I pulled the sheet back to find out what type of bed it was. The only downside of the room was that it had somewhat of a bad smell. Nothing horrific or bad enough to summon a call to the front desk, but it smelled musty and stale. I cranked the a/c up to get some fresh air circulating and forgot about the smell in a couple minutes. All in all, good hotel, my new choice for San Jose.

Stayed here for 1 night before catching a flight out of SJC. Excellent choice! Everything was so clean and new. The front desk staff was so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good.
Lots of selections for everyone. Even served Starbucks coffee for breakfast. Stayed on a Friday night and the price included parking and breakfast. Great price for all you received.
Highly recommend Hotel Sierra.

Stopped for 1 night in San Jose & picked Hotel Sierra based on reviews & price. What a find!! This is a new Hyatt property & we loved it. Rooms were very nice-not huge but plenty of room & very nice decor. We had happy hour in the gorgeous bar & it ended up being our dinner...nachos, pizza, & drinks! The breakfast was yummy too. The hot dishes were eggs, potatoes, sausage, & French toast. They also had an omelette station & all the usual cold items. All included with the room price! The staff was extremely friendly. Bonus: in the same parking lot there is a Target & 3 nice "fast food" options-Five Guys, Chipotle, & Panda Express. Highly recommend the Hotel Sierra!!

After eight days visiting the National Parks of California we spent our last night at the Hotel Sierra before flying out of SJC. It was the perfect end to a perfect trip. The Sierra is just a few miles from the airport so no airport noise. The hotel is new, immaculate, and trendy. The room was excellent and the bathroom had a lighed make-up mirror (yay). We checked in for our flight at the free internet and printer. The included breakfast was excellent with fantastic omelets. There were restaurants and a Target just across the parking lot. Only negatives were a slightly noisy air conditioner and a bit difficult to find.

Had a terrific stay at this hotel... A great value for a business trip to the San Jose area. I learned that Hotel Sierra was recently acquired by Hyatt... Like properties like Hyatt Place, this is a welcome addition for those who want great value and don't need all the fancy resort-like ammenities...

Lots to like -- Clean room (I had a single King bed)... Huge flatscreen TV... Frig and microwave in the room... (Some rooms have kitchen)... Free parking (both outdoor and covered parking with your room key)... Free wi-fi... Free business center... Daily happy hour (which I did not partake in)... Free WSJ and USA Today... A pool table for those trying hard to relive their dot-com or frat days... A free full-on breakfast buffett - with a staff to make omelettes... Sort of reminded me of breakfast in the dorms... Big dish scrambled eggs, sausages, cereal, etc. Good quantity and decent quality... All this for $80 per night with a coroporate or AAA discount. Similar stays might cost you $130 or $150 -- plus parking...

There were a few quirks... The location of this one was pretty stark... Some construction going on outside... Across the way was a Target, Starbucks, sit-down fast food, etc... So, it had a bit of a strip mall feel to it... Maybe a bit sterile if you are on a leisure trip or have kids with you... There is a small pool out front and a small gym, but oddly placed relative to the layout of the hotel...

But, it was terrific for a quick business trip... especially if you're trying to watch your travel expenses... This location is right off of 1st Street - so great access to tech firms you might be calling on... Bottom line - great value for a quality stay...

Room Tip: No really views or "loud" sides to the hotel... Again, it's located in a bit of a corp...

We stayed in this hotel 2 nights on the Labor Day weekend. The room was clean, big, and nice. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Free breakfast was excellent. The only thing that we did not like was the hotel's entrance. We drove back and forth the street several times before we could find the way in.
