Owner description: Architecturally inspired by the Temple of Amon at Karnak, it houses the largest collection of Egyptian artifacts on exhibit in western North America, including objects from pre dynastic times through Egypt's early Islamic era.

We went here on a very warm August afternoon but nearly froze to death inside the building. The artifacts were very interesting as was the little library upstairs with comfortable seating. There was a replica of an actual Egyptian tomb with very detailed explanations about burials. It seems the ancient Egyptians were almost obsessed wit the afterlife. They started to prepare for it thirty years before they expected to die. It is not a place for young children or those with thin blood, because...BRRRRR.

This is not a museum to take your 10 year old children , anything over that age perfect.
Why ? because it a serious museum and the artifacts are amazing it takes Egyptian life for what it was. Now having said that , you need to know that the Rosicrucians are a cult and take there lives seriously so if you can be open minded and not judgemental about world peace this is one of the best museums in the world about egypt.

Very impressive, they have an incredible collection of artifacts. The docents are excellent. I do NOT recommend this for young children, some things can be scary for them. (Also young children running and yelling take away the enjoyment from others!) Well done museum with lovely grounds!

It seems totally out of place... an Egyptian Museum right in the middle of a nice residential area.... I have been there half a dozen times. i always enjoy it.

The Rosicrutian Museum in San Jose is an interesting museum to visit, complete with artifacts, displays, and mummies. Its an Egyptian museum in San Jose, California.

There are planetarium shows, as well as special events.

Its worth going to. There is an admission fee.
