“Nice little surprise in suburbia”
Reviewed October 9, 2013

Not knowing what this was all about - you first travel along with the highway in view and the trail is dusty but there is a little creek, woods, a good hike and workout that gradually gets steeper and takes you to a hillside view of the city. Worth exploring if you like to hike.

“Freewheel under the freeway!”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

Since moving to San Jose I cycle this trail daily. It's a fantastic amenity, right in the heart of the city. It feels very safe, lots of walkers, runners and cyclists use it.

The trail follows Los Gatos Creek and along the way you pass little lakes, lots of shaded picnic tables, a dog park and the Lake Vasona Park, where you can hire pedal boat and kayaks to take out on the artificial lake (weekends only outside of summer).

This is a lovely way to spend a day or half day in San Jose. Bikes may be hired in Tread bike shop at the Campbell Park access, from where it is an easy 25 minute cycle to Vasona Park.

“Long Pleasant Trail”
Reviewed August 9, 2013

Popular with bicyclists. Runs for quite a few miles. Mostly paved, okay for walking and a reasonable way to cheat into Lake Vasona County Park which has steep parking fees.

“Great trail”
Reviewed August 8, 2013

Very nice trail. Surprisingly close to downtown but not crowded. You can hike there the whole day, it is quite long. Goes up the mountains and have very nice scenic views. I greatly enjoyed it.

“Great hiking”

I use this trail often. It can be flat or hilly. Also it is well used so feels safe. It's long so you can do as much or as little as you want.
