I needed to kill a few hours for a car repair so my 8 year old daughter suggested we go here. I suggest you by the combo pass that gets you the imax movie and the museum exhibits. There is a lot to do here naturally it revolves around technology. Everything is interactive and covers bodies, healthcare, space, cyber security, recycling. My favorite was the earthquake simulator where I got to relive the 1989 earthquake and my daughter got to experience what it might feel like. There is snacks and popcorn for the imax theatre. We watched the oceans movie, the movie theater is amazing and makes you feel special when you look at it for the first time. If you are there for a long period there is also a cafe which has kid friendly items along with adult food. Lastly the store which like most museums is slightly overpriced is still a cool experience with a lot of budget friendly options.
My son enjoyed the interactive robot. Great place to explore technology and where it's headed. They have something for all ages of children.
My Grandson and Grandaughter enjoy the Tech Museum for hours. The high tech dome theater screen is fabulous and sound system is dynamic. You can watch both movies and interesting documentaries. The Panda Bear documentary was very interesting and educational. My wife and I enjoyed it thoroughly while my Grandchildren studied and had fun at all the exhibits. My oldest Grandson works for the Exploratorium in San Francisco at special events programs and was formerly an explainer of the exhibits and has fun showing off the exhibits here in San Jose to my other Grandchildren. This is a family oriented place for all ages, do not miss this place when visiting downtown San Jose .
although this museum is for kids (and it's great for them)! Let your own curiosity loose and "Discover" fun and fascinating facts, ideas, and theories.
The games of exponential growth, creating natural camouflage etc. along with observing cells, looking at the exact anatomy of humans, and observing the mars landscape, make the Tech a fun place for the whole family. We learn a lot while playing and strolling though the rooms. Plenty of parking around. Allocation at least 3 hours to visit all the rooms.
