We ate on the dining room side; outside with the waves rolling in is just marvelous. My wife thought the halibut fish & chips the equal of the best on the coast, even comparable to the Spinaker in Sausalito. I had a Hess Chardonay, with the Chinese Chicken Salad - delicious.
Service for us was prompt, and for a full house at lunch all the servers were hustling. We could not see how anyone could write a negative review.

Highly recommended - great view of the surfers, great hamburgers and fish'n'chips, great Mud Pie, great local ale. Very friendly service. Always busy so if you have to wait it is worth it. Best to sit outside - they have heaters when it is coolish. The only place to eat on the San Clemente Pier.

We break up weekly 4 mile beach trail walk with a glass of wine and an order of their over-the-top poke, sashimi grade tuna mixed with macadamia nuts and avocado, topped with caviar, and served with cucumber and wonton chips. Hard to get a table bar-side in the summer, but worth the wait as the views up and down the coast are spectacular, the atmo is chill, and the surfers do their thing just yards away.

My friends and I came here because we heard and read good things about the Fisherman's Restaurant. I have to admit that the view is beautiful. And it is the only restaurant beachside. So if you are looking for ambience and setting, then this is the place.

We were able to get a table around 9pm no problem. In fact, the place was not crowded at all. However, we waited for 15 minutes before a wait staff came to our table to acknowledge our presence. We had to flag down a waitress who called our waitress over, even though we were seated right by the waitress station. So our waitress finally took our drink and food orders, but it took her another 20 minutes to bring the drinks to us!!! Did I mention that the place was not crowded at all? We can totally see our waitress hanging out at the bar chitchatting with a waiter. Finally, when we finished our drinks, which we nursed for a long time because we were waiting for our appetizers, she decided to check on us. We told her that our food never came. She said she'll check on it, but this time, we have had enough of her non-service. So we decided to leave and take our business elsewhere.

That will be our first and last time to this establishment. We may have just gotten a help staff more concerned with her social life at the moment, but the whole experience left a bad taste in our mouths. I am sure I can find a great restaurant, with a great view and superb service elsewhere.

This place has the best happy hour deals in town. Imagine a hearty supper for $3! Ribs are best, chicken is good too. Bar snacks are yummy as well - popcorn shrimp, buckets of great seafood. And you can't find a better place to enjoy the sunsets.
