This location is a quaint property tucked away in the beach town of San Clemente, CA. It's a short walk to the beautiful coast line where you can walk along the beach or go out on the pier, go swimming or surfing, grab a bite to eat at the beach side snack bar or the restaurant at the end of the pier. The rooms are well appointed and clean with nice areas to sit outside or at the pool. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Recently stayed here on business and found this great hotel really close to North Beach. A typical beach town hotel in so many ways. Not the greatest room, television or amenities for a business traveler (i.e. half the electrical outlets didn't work, the a/c barely worked, etc.). The breakfast room was all jacked up (I hate asking permission to have a bagel). All things considered, I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. The convenient access to the beach washes away the various inconveniences of the hotel. The location is what it's all about.

Stayed here for two nights with my husband. The room was large and clean with a small refrigerator and microwave. Even the in room coffee was good. Minimal breakfast buffet but the service was very good. Good fitness center and nice pool. Not far from the beach and pier. Overall a great place to stay. Very comfortable bed.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your kind review. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay with us. We have been working hard to upgrade our property to ensure our customers have a pleasant experience with us. We hope to see you again in the future, hopefully we will be finished with our breafast room remodel. Within walking distance to the beach (a few blocks).
Not very big fans of staying at hotels. I do have to say that this hotel was different than most. Isn't the newest, but kept up very nice. Very clean, and comfortable! Hotel staff was always on the move, helping cust's, cleaning, maintaining, etc., always very pleasant. Rooms always made up promptly, and kept very clean. Very impressed that the only bug seen, was a dead one in one of the outdoor stairwells (swept up by the time we walked by again). Continental breakfast was what one would expect, There's an employee, in the breakfast area, who hands out plates, and the prepackaged food. Not saying this is a bad thing, just that the tip jar sitting on the counter does kind of come across as begging. I would suggest that you let customers take their own food, having a person there to replenish items. Also, get rid of the tip jar! If you need to, charge a few more dollars a night, and give it to the person in the breakfast area. It would be classier to do that, and maybe even post a sign that says something like "Please no tips! It is our pleasure to serve you, our customers!", and even have the person refuse any tips. I've been in the services business for 35+ years, and for me a tip jar just doesn't come across very well. It's almost like begging! Even with this, it was a great visit overall!
Thank you to everyone at Best Western Plus Casablanca Inn!

Dear Guest,
Thank you for reviewing our property. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. I will take into consideration the point you brought up about the tip jar in the breakfast area. Believe it or not it was the owners idea to have one there, he visits the property often and always goes into the breakfast room for a coffee and muffin, and to meet with the guests. He likes to tip our breakfast attendant because the breakfast room is always so nice and clean and well stocked with our breakfast offerings. When we renovate the breakfast room we will be ensuring the breakfast is 100% self service.

Hotel was great and the few employees we did run into were friendly. Called in the morning to request a late check out and was told that they had already exceeded late check outs and that we would have to leave or be charged for another night. Told them i would try to be out of there by noon. Got a call at 12:05pm askign if i was paying for another night. Received a knock on the door at 12:15 pm. Didnt appreciate any of that since i had stayed at the hotel.

Dear guest,
Thank you for the nice review of our property. I apologize we were unable to extend a late check out during your stay. Since we are right by the beach, we do recieve many requests for late check outs on the weekends. We try our best to honor all late check out requests. I recommend asking for a late check out during the reservation process as those requests are always accomodated first. If you decide to return to our property again in the future please ask for me and I would be happy to make your reservation for you and ensure and extended late check out.

My family and I have stayed here over the past few years, as this is only blocks away from San Clemente State Beach, the Metrolink/Amtrak Train Station, and the San Clemente Pier. The room as clean, internet worked great, and the complimentary breakfast was good like usual. The pool was in great shape, as it is a salt water pool. It was good for my skin. I would recommend this place. Parking however, expecially at night can be hard to find on the main parking area, but there is a back parking lot with lighting and an secure gated entrance into the hotel.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for the great review of our property. I think our location is ideal as well. Many of our customers take the metrolink train, as we are located just 2 blocks from the train station. The pier is walking distance from the hotel down the beautiful beach trail San Clemente put in a few years ago. I do have to let you know however that we currently do not use a salt water filtration system in our pool. Although it has been considered, we still have not made that change. Our pool service company is however the best we have used at our hotel. They maintain the chemicals perfectly to ensure an enjoyable experience when swimming in our pool.

This was a good hotel to stay at primarily the pool and beach access are the main value, you can walk to the main drag Del Mar and you have beach access so you don't have to pay for parking at the beach. If your going to stay here suggest booking early to get the best prices. I saw prices range from $94 (people checking in next to us) to $177 dollars for people checking in on the weekend with no prior reservations. If you are a non smoker be adamant about being kept away from the ashtrays on decks of the hotels and people that smoke (only bad experience I had there).

Dear Guest,
Thank you for the nice review of our property. It is wise advice that you gave about booking early. Our rates fluctuate based on demand, and as we become more filled up our rates increase, sometimes by over 50%. We also removed the ash trays from the hotel walkways and found that guests still smoked, but put their cigarette butts out on the floors or flicked them out into the courtyard so we put ashtrays back to help prevent littering.
