We have dine here several times. referred by our daughter who lives in San Clemente about 1/2 time. Just great food and interesting twists on items like the wheat whiskey old fashioned with a flower syrup. They are inventive, involved and fun. This place offers a lot of inventive food, much locally sourced and the prices are quite fair. It is well worth a stop.

Came here on a Saturday night in late May.Got the last reservation available, at 6:45. Wasn't terribly busy when we arrived, but picked up a lot as the time went by. The noise level also increased to a good roar by the time we left, and inside got uncomfortably warm, even though the outside temperature was pleasantly cool, even sweater weather.

Service was fine, and the food was deleivered promptly, and hot. Ordered the squash blossoms filled with ricotta and herbs, lightly fried , with marinara sauce. An excellent dish, well worth trying as this is not available at many restaurants, and is seasonal here, I am told. Also had the meatball appetizer ( 3 meatballs) with marinara sauce. These are also excellent, and apparantly are a favorite of most everyone who is a regular here, i am told. They are simple, but very flavorful but not full of spicy or distracting flavors. Just plain GOOD. They offer a side of spaghetti as a side dish, which if you ordered the 3 meatballs and the spaghetti, would make a good size meal for anyone.
Also ordered the caesar salad ( the small one) which my wife and I shared. It was plenty big enough to share for two, and really, if you came with a group of four and ordered another appetizer or 2, you could split the salad 4 ways and be perfectly happy. It was huge! But the price reflects that, too.

I ordered a margharita pizza, and my wife ordered a spaghetti carbonara. The pizza was very good, a thin crust ,very neapolitan style pizza, not too cheesy or heavy. Tasted very good. The Carbonara was a bit of a disappointment in that it was a very heavy, creamy dish, much more of a very heavy alfredo style dish ,rather than a traditional Carbonara. The taste was very good, and it was full of big chunks of pork belly, but it was VERY heavy. This would be a good dish for a cold winters evening, labelled as Alfredo. Carbonara, ( as I know it from Italy, many times) it was not.

The wine list is quite adequate, with lots of wine by the glass or bottle. No real standout bargains, but nothing to complain about on that score. You are not going to go away displeased.

Unless you are a growing teen, consider splitting an entree and a pizza, and you will have plenty of food. The tendency of all the tables around us was to be wide-eyed and comment about how much food they had, and left with doggy bags!

I will definetly come back, as we live just a few minutes away and i enjoyed the evening and the food. A reservation is strongly suggested unless you want a long wait.

Four of us went Saturday night. Had a 7:30 reservation and the table was waiting for us on arrival! Had the zucchini blossoms appetizer which was very tasty. Then shared a large Cesar salad which was very good and light. Shared two pizzas, both excellent though the one with their homemade sausage was the best! Overall great experience, would recommend !

My husband, grown children, and I visit visit San Clemente once a year for a week and eat out at least once a day. One of our absolute favorite restaurants is a newcomer as of 2013; we went there twice last Spring and have already been twice this wee. The place is so inviting and attractive, and the food is wonderful: pizza, pasta, salads, roasted chicken, and more. One especially creative and popular option is for children to literally make their own pizza. The child tells the server what he or she wants as toppings and then is brought a partially cooked pizza crust and the sauce and toppings selected to "create" the pizza. The server then takes it to the wood-fired oven to bake. Kids love this!

This is one of our regular haunts in San Clemente. The thin, crispy wood-fired pizza is superb and features both traditional (e.g. Margherita) and non-traditional versions (e.g. Prosciutto, dates and peas). All produce is sourced from local farmers, and salads and other menu items change seasonally. The owner butchers his own pork; any pork dishes are superb. This is a winner!
