“Brother's Birthday.”
Reviewed October 20, 2013

It was a chilly evening but with the heaters, outside was the place to be.
The food was good but felt it was overpriced. They give you a lot of food so you will not go away hungry.

FYI, make reservations, we had to wait 45 minutes to get a table.

“Great spot”

Lots of shops and great restaurants. Try the sunset dinner at Fisherman's bar. Great value. The sunsets on the pier are amazing!

“Beautiful Place”
Reviewed October 17, 2013

I've always loved San Clemente Pier. Fishermans has basically taken over all the eating on the pier, but they have good food, so it's ok. You can also bring a picnic and enjoy the view. There's always things going on down there as well. Great for kids. Easy access to restrooms that are kept pretty clean. I hate that the parking is up a hill, but oh well...can't have it all.

“Wonderful place to enjoy the ocean, food & atmosphere”
Reviewed October 16, 2013

There aren't many free things in this world...the San Clemente Pier is one of the. Ore enjoyable freebies.

There are 2 restaurants as you face the pier; both called Fisherman's. The one to the left is high end, overpriced and not of great quality. You can have beautiful views at both Fishermans. But this restaurant on the left is sub par in every way. Service is spotty, you never know what to expect. I prefer consistency in my service.

The Fishermans to the right is a much better option - especially if you arrive between 4-7pm! There are weekly full meals (served from a catering type set up) which are about $3-4 per plate! No need to spend $30 across the way! The Happy Hour food menu varies Monday - Friday, a different style/option each day. One night it could be tostadas and salad. The next, BBQd chicken, potato salad and coleslaw, and the list goes on. The don't duplicate any night, I've heard the oysters are incredible (I don't eat them), but all seem impressed by the freshness and presentation).

Parking can be challenging I'd you arrive certain months of the year (summer being high season). But fall, winter and spring will allow you to park within the lot (you pay hourly up until 5pm). Not many appear to realize the meters do NOT require money after 5pm!! So keep that in mind if you are new to this area or visiting. Don't be fooled into paying for parking when you do not need to! The signage isn't clear on this, it's all fine print and easy to miss.

The view from Fisherman's (on the right, facing the ocean) is beyond exceptional! I challenge anyone to find a better location to dine, drink, eat and enjoy the incredible sunsets we have each night! It's worth the visit to simply watch the sunset from a comfortable and reasonably priced locale.

Walking down the pier is free. It is a longer pier than most. It has a bait/tackle and quick food stand at the end.

GREAT PLACE to people watch!
Telescopes are for use at .50.

Surfers are below you, and the waves are world class north of the pier. Fun to watch, and walk down the pier for an after dinner activity.

The pier closes at 10pm.

Also a great respite for parents whose older kids are body boarding, surfing, playing in the water below. You can see them from the outside seating deck of the Fisherman's on the right looking at the pier (which had a LOT of seating).
