It is so rare these days to find a little family-run Italian place that does everything right. I grew up in New Jersey and took them for granted but they are a dying breed in California.
Did they blast the obnoxious rock music? No. We got what was called for--some nice old world Italian melodies, and we could actually hear each other talk! Was the food good? You bet. Was the price fair? You better believe it. Was the service attentive and timely? Yes and yes.
What a pleasant break this is from the corporate-run places that dominate the restaurant landscape. Bring your appetite and have a ball.
