One reason I stay at Marriotts is that most of their properties are focused on providing good services for traveling business people.
This one was a disappointment because the quality of 'high speed' ethernet-based internet service in my room was just awful. Took minutes to load web pages and, in a couple of cases, fifteen minutes to access email. My initial call to the front desk got a reply that nothing was wrong and I should call iBahn, the company that apparently manages the service. Well, forget that. I got put on a rather indefinite hold. A walk down to the front desk revealed information that there had been a week of problems with many rooms and, well, if I wanted to bring my laptop, discs, etc. down to the lobby I could sit there and do my work (a pretty impractical solution) on a wireless service, which they would give me for free.
Now one would think that a major chain business hotel located near Silicon Valley and the headquarters of many leading internet companies, not to speak of the airport, would have 21st century internet service (like at most Days Inns.....). One would also think that someone at the front desk could mention a possible problem and try to assign needy customers to rooms that were working well.
Otherwise, the room was ok, the breakfast good, and location great.
