“Very clean and quiet. Near good restaurants.”
Reviewed September 14, 2012

The hotel was very clean. The desk employees were very nice and accomodating and always greeted with a smile. The beds were reasonably comfortable and there was a variety of pillows from which to choose. The price was good, in bay area terms, anyway. The room was quiet even though it looked over the El Camino. There are several good restaurants within walking distance. We opted for the Rib Shack. Highly recommended - very tasty sides and low prices. The free parking was definitely a plus.

Room Tip: All rooms seem equally fine.

This hotel is very close to the airport (about 10-15 minute drive) and has large, clean and rather old rooms. Unfortunately it was pretty noisy, because there wasn't only noise from the airport (which is to be expected for an airport hotel), but also quite some street noise and train noise.
There is not a lot of things in the neighborhood, but a 20 minute drive will get you to some nicer places. All of this said, I would lean more towards a "2 star" rating, but the complimentary parking bumped it up to the "3 star" rating.

We stayed only one night as a jumping-off place for SF Airport. As such, it served our needs perfectly: scrupulously clean, surprisingly spacious bathroom, inexpensive, free (albeit limited) breakfast, free and on-time van for the short hop to the airport, friendly and helpful staff, computer and printer for boarding passes. Too far to walk from BART to hotel, but cabs are plentiful at San Bruno BART station, or you can hop on the No. 391 bus there.

We stayed here after taking a red eye into San Francisco and heading out the next morning to Yosemite. It served our purpose perfectly! It was clean, easy to get to from the airport, and had breakfast provided early. If you're staying to visit San Francisco it's pretty far out and not that convenient, but it's really close to the BART. If you need a place to crash either coming in or getting ready to leave the city, couldn't ask for a better place.

We found the prices of hotels in San Francisco very high and most of them without parking space so we looked fot something outside town. This was excellent. It's only a short drive to San Francisco (20 minutes). Rooms are big and clean, bathroom is really nice. Parking-lot under the hotel. Breakfast-area is too small. In San Francisco at the pier you find enough parking lots to park (17 dollar for the entire day).

I had a developer conference to attend in San Francisco, and since I was paying for it out of my own pocket, needed a cheap hotel with parking (as I was driving down from Vancouver).

The hotel is easy to find and provides free underground parking. Note that there are two car parks, so if one fills up (which it did during my stay) the other one probably will not. Access to the car park is not restricted (anyone could walk or drive in from the street) but I had no concerns about leaving my car there.

Check-in was friendly and helpful and I was given a room on the second floor. This is the same floor as breakfast is served on -- if you get a room next to the breakfast area, be aware it could be noisy in the morning. My room was at the end of one of the corridors, and on opening the door had a short corridor with a corner in it, reducing noise from the corridor nicely.

The room itself was reasonably large and spotlessly clean, with everything you would expect including a small fridge. The air conditioner was effective and had a 'fan always on' mode so that it wouldn't keep switching on and off loudly through the night. The room backed onto residential houses that were very close, but this wasn't a problem.

A comfy chair would have been a nice addition to the room, as would better lighting over the bath and shower.

Wifi worked fine and was acceptable but nothing special -- OK for browsing the web but if you need to download any large attachments it could take a while.

The walls of the hotel did seem quite thin -- I had the usual elephant staying in the room above me (this seems a regular occurrence when I travel) who stomped around, and I was also able to hear a baby in the next room. If you like a quiet stay, I'd recommend asking for a room on the top floor.

The hotel is a very easy walk (<5 minutes) to the Caltrain station, and about a 20 minute walk to the BART station. I had no concerns about walking to the Caltrain station at any time of day, but the walk from the BART station at night put me slightly on edge, although nothing happened. I believe there is a bus route that stops outside the hotel and goes to the BART station. I would recommend the Caltrain if it goes where you need -- it was cheaper, cleaner, quicker and more pleasant than the BART.

All in all an excellent stay at a reasonable price. But for the noise issues, I would give it 5 stars.

Room Tip: Walls and ceilings seem thin, so a top-floor room is desirable. Some second-floor rooms are right o...

I was very surprised how nice it was. Super close to airport with free shuttle. Front desk lady was very nice and helpful. Bathroom is really nice and room was very clean. The only negatives were we smoke and no balcony, had to go out the entrance and there are houses directly out the back but u can close the curtains and not notice it. If u can, get take out from the rib shack. It's walking distance from the hotel and it's the slam!
