“Oui Oui !!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 13, 2013

I have been here many times in the past 20 years - but just returned after a one year absence. It is better than ever. Superb menu, food and service. The wine list is a little short - but what they have is plenty sufficient. The food was absolutely delicious - so many menu choices of French gastronomy that we had trouble making a decision. The Spinach Salad was prepared table-side and was super. As was the vichyssoise soup......I could go on and on but believe me you will not be disappointed.

So superb food, reasonable prices, great service - will always go back when we are in the area.

“French dining at the base of the American Alps”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 4, 2013

Late last year, the love of my life took me to a little secluded French bistro tucked away on a residential street just before heading up the mountain to Big Bear.

The atmosphere was very cozy and inviting. Crisp linens on each table, flickering tea lights, and soft music playing in the background. It was the perfect backdrop for a romantic evening. Our waiter was gracious and at our service. We started with the Escargot Bourgogne, decadent. The wine was selected for us by our waiter, and a nice selection at that.

Our entrees opened with a crisp Bleu cheese salad, and bowl of their creamy house potato leek soup. It was delightfully smooth and buttery. The New York Steak was broiled perfectly with garlic herb butter, served with baby carrots, and delicately flavored potatoes Au gratin. I came to try their specialty - Le Carre D'Agneaux aux herbes (Roasted rack of lamb) prepared at the Chefs recommendation -medium rare... Heavenly. It had been braised with fresh rosemary, garlic and cracked black pepper.

We finished off our dining experience with a silky Creme Brulee. It was buttery and sweet enough to tickle your pallet. What a wonderful dining experience!

Prices are above average, dress nicely, and bring your appetite. I recommend bringing your special someone to impress. :)

Would I come back? Oui!

“A touch of Paris in San Bernardino”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 31, 2013

This restaurant was in a bit of a strange location but we had a groupon deal and decided to give it a try. The decor was nothing special but the side by side seating around the outside of the room was a nice touch. Because of the layout of the room, there was no privacy and conversations could be easily heard from across the room. The staff was pleasant and accessible and took time to talk with us. Food service was a little slow but it was a full house. We ordered veal minceur and a rib eye steak special. They both came with onion soup, garlic potatoes and mixed vegetables. There was an extra fee for the onion soup to be served with bread and cheese. The soup was very enjoyable. The veal was good and the rib eye special with a coffee and herb rub was excellent. For dessert, we had the crepes surprise with vanilla ice cream. It was flambeed tableside. It was one of the sweetest and richest desserts we have ever had. The combination of flavors was very tasty with the orange sauce being sweet and the made-in-house caramel being salty. Overall, it was a very nice meal and we would probably return for special occasions.

“Good Value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 10, 2013

Prior to going to the symphony, we ate dinner here. Reservations are required. While the menu is short on items, the food was wonderful. I ordered the wild caught salmon and it was excellent. My husband ordered the salmon special and it was good too. All plates are generous with their portions. We ordered escargot and it was tasty too.The creme brulee was just average. The wine menu is short on choice but fairly priced. My only compliant was that the restaurant was cold temperature wise and there appeared to be no heating on since the bar area (separate from the dining room) was ice cold. It didn't make us want to linger over our dessert and coffee. Service was friendly and informative. We probably would go back for a special occasion.

“All had an excellent meal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 21, 2013

Went to the Rendezvous in San Bernardino as we had a groupon deal and had driven past the turnoff for years.

Glad we went because the food was outstanding (particularly for this area) and the prices were not out of line.

We all had different dishes including the duck, Orange Roughy special, Filet Mignon flambe and the pate. All were extremely well prepared and delicious. Also enjoyed the cherries jubilee for dessert.

The service was just right - not too fast and not too slow. We will return.
