“Great find!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 27, 2013

We stopped for gas and were looking for a place to have a late lunch, saw Los Altos with several cars in the parking lot. Very surprised at the variety of dishes offered and the seafood! Some diners had huge plates of crab legs and shrimp. There is a daily special and we ordered the shrimp soup - the Friday special! Large bowl of Nice broth with some pieces of celery, carrots, potato and loads of shrimp for $7.50. The tacos were yummy, fish, chicken, chile verde, pork and Carne asada-2 for $5.00. The 4 of us were very full for under $32 total. The flan was tempting but no room. Very pleasant and efficient service by attractive young women! Would return if in the area.

“Fun and delicious”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2012

Food was reasonably placed, interesting and delicious. Great service. Mariachi band came in, but not the tourist-y kind. It felt very authentic and added to the fun. Families, young guys in cowboy hats, teenagers all dressed up, great scene.

“Fun and funky with great food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 1, 2012

This restaurant is on the hotel strip off the highway. We were staying at the nearby Best Western and the desk clerk reecommended Los Altos. It looks like a local place, busy, loudish music, but what fun for us because we were driving to Mexico and the restaurant gave a nice foretaste. My chile rellenos appetizer was excellent. The bucket of peel and eat shrimp was massive and delicious. The service was friendly and efficient. The food came fast and well prepared. Absolutely loved it. The meal was a terrific bargain. The decor is shabby diner, but the food is superb. Well worth a stop or detour. We'll stop here again

“Great local place with great salsa!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 5, 2012

Great place by the hotel I stay at. Excellent traditional mexican food with great salsa. I agree, the band can be loud and annoying. The food makes up for it. Over the last three years the quality has decreased, but is still a good deal.

“Not bad but nothing spectacular....”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2011

Visited here on a Thursday lunch. They were a little busy but we were seated immediately. Ordered drinks, had a few questions on the menu but waitress was great to answer all questions. Food was delivered timely (cheese enchiladas and carne asada for husband). Food was okay, not bad but seemed bland to us. Salsa and chips were tasty, beer was cold. All in all, it's a fine place for a quick bite but I wouldn't make a special point to go here.
