Stayed here weekend 9/16-18/2011 for the Monterey Jazz festival. Great Govt rate of $126, clean hotel, good service, got an early check in, even though hotel was booked. 3 floors, elevators, nice lobby area with fireplace and TV. Outdoor patio area with gazebo, indoor heated pool and jacuzzi. Ample FREE parking even with the Residence Inn, literally next door. Nice location with plenty of shopping and banks, from Walmart to a Mall on the east side of freeway. Hotel is located right off 101 Fwy. You can get a refrig upon request with no charge. Nice variety for breakfast and reasonably priced, not complimentary....GOOD free coffee & variety of teas in lobby area, which is available 24 hours. Has a small little area for purchasing snacks, drinks and other sundries.

We stayed in Room 213, which had 2 queens and balcony. Not all rooms have balconies, probably depends on room type. Beds slept wonderful, nice size bathroom with tub/shower combo. Shower head location could accommodate someone 6ft or so, but could've had the calcium removed for the full experience. Bathroom door opens directly into the small vanity area with sink, blow dryer, hair products (no shower caps tho) and sliding glass door closet, which can be a little cramped, but not a big deal. Iron & board, single use coffee pot, coffee/teas, ice bucket, glasses, desk w/lamp & chair, 1 chaise chair & ottoman, 32" flat screen TV (reception could've been better), thermostat Air Cond/heating unit, digital alarm clock and most of your basic needs.

About a 20 minute drive into Monterey. Great alternative for the Monterey area, which can be VERY pricey.

This was a nice room in a nice hotel. We paid about $150 and for that price would have expected a fridge and microwave.

Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 toddlers) stayed for 3 nights in August including a weekend (saturday) night.

Parking:
Parking is ample, we never had any problem finding parking even though the hotel was fully booked.

Check-in:
The hotel was fully booked that week so when we arrived early (around 11am) we couldn't get a room immediately. It is our fault not to check with them beforehand and just assumed there're empty rooms. The front desk staff was helpful though and made it happen and we were able to put the kids to nap around 12:30pm. We really appreciated their effort.

Room:
Typical courtyard room with 2 double beds. Room was clean but didn't have a refrigerator. I wish I read the reviews here before going because another reviewer said you could ask for one. We have 2 toddlers so we were getting ice couple times a day to keep the milk fresh.

The bathroom was clean but the sink was clogged and it's really inconvenient. We had to call and asked the front desk in person 3 times before someone came and fixed it.

Overall we didn't hear anything from our neighbors or the hallways. However our last night was a Saturday and there's a party in a neighborhood house and their music was way loud. Nothing we could do because it's not from a Marriott property.

Breakfast:
We ate at the hotel every morning. The breakfast buffet is around $11 per adult and my children were free. There's also an a-la-cart menu. The buffet included typical breakfast items: eggs, sausage, bacon, oatmeal, fresh fruits, yogurt, waffles, bread/donuts/muffins, or you can also ask the chef to "customize" your order such as scrambled eggs with egg-white only.

Other:
There's an elevator so no worry to ask for a room in the 2nd or 3rd floor.

Swimming pool looked kind of dirty to me and we just sat on the poolside and play.

We didn't get room service for the second day probably because the kids took a nap until 2pm and the maids forgot about our room.

Great hotel, The room was great, clean and spacious. The service was great. Everybody was friendly and ready to help. We loved the coffee bar. My daughter and I specially liked the hot chocolate. We asked for a refrigerator and we got one right away. We got some great recommendations for places to eat. We spent a lot of time in the swimming pool after our daily outings. We would certainly stay again at this hotel.

It was the closest we could get for the 1/2 marathon in Monterey. Great place to stay. Quiet, not too hard to find but a tad off the beaten path. Nice staff. Too expensive - but they all were that weekend. At least they didn't try to make us stay two nights

Room Tip: Nice sized rooms

We stayed at this hotel last Friday, July 22nd. We had no problem checking in but as soon as we entered the room, we were able to listen our neighbor's conversation CLEARLY and they're not even screaming, just using regular voice. We won't stay at this hotel anymore.
