We were there with another couple for a 4 day stay to get away from home and visit some vineyards. We were greeted by their friendly dogs and cats who were great company as we strolled around the beautiful ranch. They have horses to add to the beauty of the vast land where we hiked around each morning just to come back to a great home cooked breakfast. The 2 other couples that were in other rooms were great company whenever we ran into them as well. Our biggest mistake was not planning a full day to relax and enjoy their ranch. Wine and cheese were available when we came back though. Loved every bit of this trip. I hope to return again soon!

Great Napa Valley escape! If you like quiet countryside, strolling country trails and vineyards, dogs, cats and race horses Rustridge is the place to visit. There's even a lovely pool to cool off and their wine to taste.

We had a great time here. It was a nice "off the beaten path" stay after each day with crowds in Napa. The owners were very friendly and had 4 labs that went on walks with us through the vineyards. The wind up the mountain was beautiful, making this a very relaxing place to stay. The house is comfy and it will be our "go to" place for any future trips to Napa.

Room Tip: All rooms are good, but the end suite is the best with an in-room fireplace.

This is the second time that we've stayed here. The location is about a half hour drive from St. Helena, out in the boonies of Chiles Valley, but that is the environment we wanted. This is a large horse ranch as well as a winery, and there is a hiking trail and lots of friendly dogs and cats (and horses behind the fence). The room we had was comfortable, but it has a portable heater which, if you leave it on during the night, is noisy enough for sensitive sleepers like me to be disturbing. I used the hot tub, but not the pool. Robe and towels were provided. The breakfast was really really good, and the camaraderie at the breakfast table was nice. There is a communal refrigerator. The two best things about Rust Ranch are that you can bring your dog (not all rooms take dogs), and it is so isolated that you feel very relaxed.

We have been coming out to Napa for several decades and if you haven't noticed---it is changing! From the wineries asking for outrageous sums for a few sips of wine in the tasting room to sheer numbers of people showing up. Yes, change is the only constant, however, success can change the core of the experience in a not-so-fantastic way.

Rust Ridge is the real deal! They have remained completely unchanged. No glitz, no glamor, just an honest FARM that makes great wine! If you get to stay at the B&B you will first meet two of the most genuine people on the planet, Jim and Susan. The rooms are nicely done, the breakfast is fantastic and the hospitality is second to none. They allow you to treat their place as you would your own. Feels great to be a part of scenery which is opposite of sitting back and simply admiring it! Cannot say enough good things about our experience or the owners and operations. Oh yeah, and check out their wines--incredible!
