Stayed at Rust Ridge beginning of April. My sister and brother-in-law introduced me to Rust Ridge in early 2007. Every year I return to clear my mind and enjoy being off the grid and surrounded by nature. No traffic noise and hundreds of acres to hike and explore. This working horse ranch and winery is for those that enjoy nature and animals. Horses are corralled in various locations around the ranch, inviting you to hike about to find all of them. At dawn they eagerly await the ranch hand that brings them their morning hay. Ranch cats will seek out a head scratch or two. Ranch dogs often accompany you on a hike, showing off their favorite trails. Enjoy an early dinner at anyone of the wonderful restaurants in Napa/St Helena and settle down at Rust Ridge to enjoy the sunset and evening. Jim and Susan are excellent hosts that share their wines and stories of the ranch. Take time to read a good book or strum a guitar with friends. Rust Ridge is my favorite retreat from work in Silicon Valley.
