Description: Cindy Pawlcyn’s Wood Grill & Wine Bar brings to south St. Helena the classic American fare that has made her Mustards Grill and Cindy’s Backstreet Kitchen Napa Valley legends. Nicknamed CP’s, the menu showcases Pawlcyn’s inimitable talent for fresh, tantalizing American Wine Country comfort food with made-from-scratch dishes such as Sweet Crispy Pork Belly, Dad’s House-made Potato Chips with bleu cheese dip, Brown Derby Cobb salad, Napa Cab Braised Short Ribs, Niman Ranch Burger with Cindy’s Secret Sauce, and West Coast Crab Roll. An award-winning wine program features the largest by-the-glass wine list in the Napa Valley as well as the signature ‘Vintner Splash’ on Saturday nights where local boutique vintners share complimentary tastes of their wines. The light-filled contemporary setting, family-friendly kids’ menu and large tree-shaded patio for outdoor dining (with live music Thursday nights) make the restaurant an instant Napa Valley classic.

“Modern and Comfortable Venue”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 1, 2013

This place is convenient and attractive and comfortable, but the food isn't anything to write home about. We did enjoy the eggplant fries, even though they were a bit greasy, but he chicken sandwich was over-dosed with garlic. The service at lunch was good, although the place was almost empty. The wait-staff seem to have been trained to use the Royal "we" when interacting with customers, as in "Are we ready to order?" For some reason, that irritates me in a pricey venue like this one.

“Another Pawlcyn Hit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 24, 2013

If you are a fan of Cindy Pawlcyn's restaurants, do not miss the Wood Grill and Wine Bar. Delicious and perfectly prepared dishes in a warm yet modern setting are presented by friendly and knowledgeable wait staff who work hard to make your visit perfect. Try the duck confit salad - the best I've ever had.

Our party of 8 each had something differeent. While the service was OK, we were th only ones in the room that night, The food was just OK, but nothing special. It won't be open the next time we come to Napa.

“A must go to place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 24, 2013

A trip to the wine country would not be complete without stopping here. It was the best meal we had on our 4 day stay in the area. We started our meal with the gem salad with blue cheese dressing - nice chunks of blue cheese dressed romaine and flavorful cherry tomatoes. I have not had such a great dressing in a very long time. I had the West Coast Crab roll - it was fabulous it reminded me of the lobster rolls you get in Maine. Great crab with just a hint of lemon and tarragon in the typical roll. House chips were included. My husband had the Pork Chop - he swooned over it's tender juicy goodness. He said the garlic mashed potatoes were like eating clouds they were so fluffy and light. Apple crostata with ice cream were the finishing touch to an awesome meal. Their wine list is fantastic. I like the way they support the local wine makers that may not have their own tasting room. They also serve wine from the casks - that is the best way to enjoy your wine. We were there as soon as they opened on Thursday so we did not have a wait. We usually go to CP's other restaurant Mustards but this we feel was better than Mustards. Go - you will not be disappointed.

“Okay in a pinch”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 23, 2013

After a full day of wine tasting, I wasn't really that hungry or inspired to eat a big meal. We didn't want to drive too far so we noticed that the parking lot had spaces, knew the name and figured we would give it a try.

The place was empty except for a couple of tables outside. We opted to dine outside which I'm glad we did. The outdoor patio was large but very inviting and there was a huge wood burning fireplace kicking out a great fire.

We only ordered salad & twice baked clams and they were done nicely. but overall, the restaurant and menu just seemed very average and had a chain-like feel.

However, it was okay in a pinch.
