We were fortunate to obtain a last-minute reservation for early evening. First of all, the exterior of the building has to be one of the most inviting of all with the ivy and brick façade beckoning one to enter. The interior is spacious and opens up to an outdoor dining patio. We opted for an open-window table overlooking the patio - a good choice on this cool evening. We started off with the hand made mozzarella on grilled bruschetta ($14) based upon our waiter's description as a one-of-a kind delicacy. It indeed was tasty and filling. I opted for the Maltagliati Verde pasta ($16) infused with lamb pieces and cheese (delicious) and my wife the Rigatoni Alla Carbonata ($18), rich, tasty and very filling. The house cab ($9) by the glass (can't go wrong in Napa) was just fine. All-in-all, Tra Vigne lived up to our expectations. Next time, we would probably order a salad and appetizer, and split the very large pasta offering.
