I love this spot for a quick bite before the movies, a drink with friends or simply lunch at the bar. Lively and very different from anything else in Saint Helena this is not your typical Mexican fare -- and that's a good thing. They've stepped it up a notch and it makes for a thoroughly enjoyable meal. The tortilla soup is amazing, and the margaritas are outstanding with a very wide selection of tequila. Get the chips and salsa sampler and splurge on the guacamole -- it's worth it. This is a great addition to the local dining scene.

Though a little pricey, the food here was pretty excellent. Most entrees are served as small plates, perfect for sharing. As I was alone, it made choosing very difficult. I settled on a grilled fish taco, which was very small, but very good. As side dishes, I selected the street corn, which was on the cob, charred by an open fire and then coated in chili powder and shredded cheese. Delicious! I also ordered the Brussels sprouts which were roasted with bacon and grapes. So good, that I am attempting to try at home. This was a very good meal and the dining room is so quaint. I love the string of lights that run back and forth over the dining room.

We love Mexican and we are foodies. Manythumbs up. My kids loved the Mexican Coca Colas and highly recommend the different guacamoles. Would have gone back two days in a row if schedule allowed. Waiters very patient with special needs child although we went early not to disturb others. Recommended by Calistoga Ranch.

We happened upon this great bar/restaurant/cantina in St Helena in the Napa Valley. We'd ventured from very chilly San Francisco in July to the beautiful Napa Valley and 104 degree heat.
We only had time for a day trip from SFO so after visiting the Behringer winery, gorgeous place - didn't love the wine, we shopped along the strip in St Helena.

Given the heat we discovered this cool bar, in more ways than one, on the "strip". The cocktails, mohito's, were fantastic along with the wine selection and the tapas/dips were fantastic. Along with this there was a great young bar tender who'd just left college and some other really interesting patrons, an ex peace corp guy that I only wish we could have had dinner with, that we had the privilege to chat to. A fantastic place for Mexican in an amazing little town...don't understand why the Napa doesn't promote itself more down under.

If you're looking for authentic Mexican, this may not be the place for you. The food is a bit more "new age". However, they do make a wicked margarita!
