Went to CIA with 8 of my closest friends to celebrate a birthday while visiting Napa. Food was wonderful, the price for a multi-course meal with wine pairing was reasonable, service was outstanding, atmosphere wonderful, overall a great experience!

Had a really enjoyable evening at Greystone.

New concept to us that we were introduced to on out visit no Napa Valley and we'd certainly be keen to visit the Culinary Institute's campus in New York (can't say I ever expect to be in San Antonio).

The building is beautiful. Built in 1888 and steeped in tradition. Impressive architecture and nicely decorated within.

Staff were friendly, polite, and professional. Happy to chat and very informative.

We were impressed with the standard of cooking and enjoyed the food. Well presented and tasty. As you'd expect from a nice restaurant in Napa Valley, the wine list was of a good standard.

Would be very happy to return.

eating at the culinary institute of America in napa is definitely a unique experience to foodies. the building looks like an old castle and with the vines around the scenery becomes even more impressing. we had reservations for the outside terrace for lunch and weren't aware that inside you can sit on the bar and see all the cooking process, but they were happily willing to sit us inside and for people who love to cook it is a fun thing to be part of a chef's kitchen. i'm a vegetarian so they offered my dishes outside the lunch menu, which was very nice of them (had the mushroom risotto). the atmosphere inside was great. seeing the chefs and the trainees was awesome. over all a great lunch. go after your lunch to the main building to explore some of the gallery exhibit and of course their store.

We were treated like royalty partially because 6 women walked in with tiaras (we were celebrating a friend's milestone birthday!) The service was so wonderful and the presentation was choreographed beautifully with servers presenting all the plates at once. Many of us selected the fixed price lunch with wine pairings picked by the sommelier - I think it was perfect! The first course was a pureed smooth butternut squash soup (a large portion!) with smoked chicken and cubed butternut squash in the dish at the side. It was delicious and inventive, the wine was a Sonoma Coast Chardonnay, Literai which I adored. Second course was a braised pork over creamy polenta with broccolini orange and a teaspoon of applesauce. Nice blend of flavors paired with a lovely Pinot Noir whose name I can't remember.

Wandering around the restaurant between courses to look at the gorgeous open kitchens and talk to the dessert station person making pumpkin cheesecake and another cook who was preparing a lamb ragu - the aromas in the restaurant were heavenly.

We ordered the dessert sampler and tasted a bit of everything. It was a lot of food and the price matched the food and service. I would highly recommend celebrating a memorable occasion there or for just about anything.

On our way to the gift shop we strolled through the Vintner's Hall of Fame and dreamed about drinking some of the wines! So fun. Thank you to all the sweet students and everyone who made our visit memorable! The Princess Posse rides again.
