Description: Farmstead at Long Meadow Ranch's restaurant showcases the seasonal, ingredient-driven American farmhouse cooking of executive chef Stephen Barber. LMR Grass-fed Beef CheeseburgerHoused in a former nursery barn, our 110-seat restaurant revolves around a central open kitchen with booth and central seating, community dining, and a full bar. We feature an authentic farm-to-table menu. The ingredients are foraged from local sources and feature Long Meadow Ranch's all natural grass-fed beef and lamb, organic and sustainably produced eggs, fruits, vegetables, extra virgin olive oil, vinegar, and honey. Possessing a substantial background in Southern cooking styles, Stephen emphasizes a wood-burning element for select dishes. Stephen's kitchen is also outfitted with a plancha, a cast-iron grill ideal for searing Long Meadow Ranch's healthy, tender, and flavorful grass-fed beef and lamb. Community tables at Farmstead restaurantFarmstead at Long Meadow Ranch's restaurant wine program features Long Meadow Ranch Winery's elegant and balanced wines, as well as other domestic and international wines selected by Chris Hall to complement the restaurant's American farmhouse cooking. LMR and Farmstead wines are also available to purchase to-go at the Logan-Ives House cellar door. There is no corkage fee at Farmstead at Long Meadow Ranch. Instead, a $5-per-bottle fee is collected as a donation to a featured local community-building not-for-profit organization each month. We call this program Corkage for Community. Outdoor bar at Farmstead restaurantOutdoors in season, guests can enjoy a meal among the espalier apple trees, drinks at the bar, or relax with friends and family by the cozy wood-fired authentic forge. Monday through Friday from 4 PM to 6 PM we offer a Growers' Happy Hour with specially-priced cocktails, beer, and wine and a special bar menu. We also offer Weekly Traditions featuring special friendly, casual menus on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nghts and on Sunday for brunch. Live entertainment on Fridays. The smell of wood smoke and BBQ just sucks you in! The space is open, airy, very cool and modern with a country twist. Also a neat outdoor space between the restaurant and the tasting room next door. Our food was good, but somehow it wasn't as great as I thought it would be. We tried a pork rillette that the server recommended that we didn't care for at all, (no flavor and mushy, oily texture) my grilled trout also was pretty bland, my husband's burger was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. Maybe we just didn't order well, but it didn't knock our socks off.

They have their own herb gardens so everything they prepare tastes so alive. We hosted a party for 15 people and yhey accommodated us with a custom 'Family Style' menu. Special requests were not a problem and the wine list is excellent. They have an outdoor area to wait with food and bar service and a cozy fireplace for those cool nights. Must go!

I was in Napa this weekend with my wife and two other couples, and late Saturday afternoon we were able to book a reservation for dinner at 8:30--perfect after wine tasting and a late lunch. We never made it to the wine list because we all enjoyed our cocktails so much and ordered a second round (tip: arrive early and sit outside at the lovely bar). The stars of the show are the "mini ham sandwiches," which are woefully under-merchandised on the menu. These prosciutto laden beauties come three to an order, and we all agreed that we could have made a meal out of a few orders. Request to Farmstead: please open up early on weekends and serve these guys out front with an egg a top. You'll have lines in the parking lot.

The rest of the menu was pretty typical if you live/eat in San Francisco, and that's not a bad thing. Farm fresh ingredients prepared well are always welcome. The salmon, trout, and burger, were all very good. The "potted pig" was heavy but a crowd pleaser. Alas we had no room for dessert. All in all, Farmstead is a good bang-for-your-buck dining experience in the sometimes too-precious Napa. Just don't forget to order the sammiches!

We had a great day wine tasting in the St. Helena area and ended the day with a wonderful dinner at the Farmstead Restaurant. The meal was excellent.
The arugala salad with strawberries, almonds and feta cheese was scrumptious. We both enjoyed the smoked ribs. The smoker can be seen outside the restaurant. The chef offers a special smoked meat daily. These were the best ribs we've had in a long time - great rub, tender and generous portion (8 large ribs on each plate). We even packed up a few for home. The dessert list offers some variety, but not extensive. I chose the the Cherry Tart because the decription sounded interesting, but it was just okay, not what I expected.
Overall, this is an excellent restaurant with nightly specials. The menu offers a variety of foods $$-$$$
It was our second visit and the restaurant still provides the same top quality food we enjoyed last year.

The restaurant offers outside dining with a view of their lovely garden and fruit trees.

We were visiting the area from Texas and stumbled upon this restaurant for dinner. The outdoor seating (with of course, prime evening weather) and service were absolutely excellent. I highly recommend the meatball appetizer - 4 sizzling meatballs served in a small cast iron skillet - yum! Several of us had a delicious looking homemade hamburgers and I had the pork chop served atop jalapeno grits. It was very delicious. Oh, and don't miss out on the cheddar biscuits with honey butter! I could have eaten many more! We hear the chicken fried steak is amazing and coming from Texas, we figured we would be better qualified to make that judgement - unfortunately, they only serve it once a month...so perhaps next time, we will time our visit to sample the CFS. :)
