Owner description: At Long Meadow Ranch Winery we produce and purvey our wines from two locations in the Napa Valley: our 650-acre home ranch, which we call the Mayacamas Estate, and our 90-acre Rutherford Estate in the heart of the Rutherford AVA, which includes vineyards and production vegetable gardens. Our 650-acre historic Mayacamas Estate is nestled high atop the Mayacamas Mountains above the Napa Valley. Here we produce award-winning red wines and handcrafted extra virgin olive oils - as well as grass-fed beef, eggs, and heirloom fruits and vegetables. Our family - Ted, Laddie, and Christopher Hall - has re-established 16 acres of vineyards first planted on the Mayacamas Estate in the 1870s and we have resumed producing estate-bottled red wine from this distinctive mountain "terroir." In plain sight from the Mayacamas Estate high above, the 90-acre Rutherford Estate is located on the floor of the Napa Valley in the heart of the world famous Rutherford AVA. It is situated among some of Rutherford's most celebrated historic vineyards. We grow extraordinary Sauvingon Blanc, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes in 74 acres of vineyard.

Organic locally grown food, family style settings, good bar scene, excellent wine list, decor is very cali/wine country, staff is well versed, grounds are inviting, and a whos whos at the bar.

I travel 240 days a year, I know good food, menus and scenes when I see it, this place is a must on the organic circuit. Gourmet gastro MUST!

I sure like the concept, but in my opinion, not good enough for Napa Valley. We ate dinner here on Oct.7 after friends told us about it. We took in a bottle of wine and happy to say corkage was only $2, which is awesome! Our wine was a big cabernet so I was in the mood for some meat. Unfortunately, the only meat on the menu was a gnochi with chuck roast in it. I don't like gnochi so I chose chicken. Pretty boring but I didn't see anything else on the menu that I thought would stand up to the big red or that sounded very good to me. I had the squash-apple soup first, which was okay but the seeds they put on top were way too chewy. The chicken itself was good but the "stuff" they laid it on, not so much..... Hubby was very happy with his salad and with his gnochi which is why I'm rating it an average. If it was just me, I would rate it lower. Our waitress was very nice - it was her 2nd night on the job - and was doing just fine, but the guy following her around and "training" her really put us off.

I've dined there a couple of times now, and love the food! Very fresh, innovative and worth the visit. The entire 'theme' of their organic farm to table works!
