Owner description: We are a boutique winery located in St. Helena, Ca...the heart of Napa Valley. Owned, farmed, and operated by the Salvestrin Family for 77 years, our wines are 100% Estate and we produce approx 3,500 cases. We'd love to have you at the winery for a private tasting and tour, please schedule an appointment or a lunch to see our 'off the beaten path' winery and vineyard!

This one could have been skipped. . $15 pp for 3 very small pours and a quick 20-30 min walk through the vineyards. We sat outside in the rain and it just wasn't anything too special. The wines were just okay, nothing too exciting for us. There was only 1 person working the winery and he had to tend to other guests both upstairs and outside and answer the phone. We did have an apt a month in advance, so I feel they should have been a little more prepared for guests.

We have been to Salvestrin winery about 4 times, and stayed in their Inn twice (once with our 2 children). Hands down this is my favorite winery in all of Napa (And I have been to Napa many times). It is a family owned, Estate grown winery with exceptional wines. Their Sauv Blanc and Cab have to be my favorites. This is a must-stop on your highway 29 trek. You will not be disappointed. Just make sure to make a reservation!!

This place gave us a real feel of where we should eat, drink, and be merry! The mention of the lobster bake made our mouths water, and the opportunity to talk with the other people tasting and the lovely woman behind the counter who agreed to open up the Sangiovese because it was our honeymoon. Great trip.

I own a small, eco-friendly winery tour company in Napa and recently stumbled across Salvestrin Winery. Even though it's right on the main drag, Salvestrin has the feel of a winery that's well off the beaten path. And of course the wines are excellent. Oftentime there's a family member in the tasting room or outside gardening. And the new tasting room staffer, Luke, is a real character who always goes out of his way to treat my guests well. I'd recommend Salvestrin to anybody!

Simply put, Salvestrin is the perfect antidote to an increasingly-commercial Napa Valley. At a time when most wineries however small they may appear are ultimately owned and run by giant conglomerates, Salvestrin is and has been family owned for going on three generations. What does this mean for you? A visit to Salvestrin will likely include a personal conversation with the winemakers, a stroll through their gorgeous vineyard (and maybe a nibble on grapes picked fresh from the vine), and an otherwise leisurely and attitude-free tasting experience. Ah yes, and the wine -- some delicious sauvignon blanc and seriously well-priced cabs, as well as my personal favorite, their Retaggio red blend. You will be a hit at dinner parties when showing up with a fabulous bottle of wine from your secret boutique winery while the other jokers just bought whatever was on the middle shelf at Safeway that week. A must-visit for those looking for a truly distinctive wine tasting experience.
