We had dinner here recently. We ordered several items to share among two couples. The grilled bread was good but we had to beg for more butter. The dates were simple but matched perfectly with our red wine. The chicken was good. The steak was good. Both entrees were swimming in sauce. The french fries were excellent. The space itself is really interesting and all in all the service was quite good.

Great selection of food! Prices are higher end but that is expected in the Valley. Their menu and prices are pretty competitive to other restaurants in the area.

Absolutely delicious. Very reasonably priced. I definitely expected them to charge more for what they provided. The burger was amazing as was the steak tartare and the broccoli salad. Only thing we had that wasnt great was the razor clams. They were small and overpriced. There is no corkage fee on the first bottle, which is very nice of them. an absolute must if youre in napa.

The little sister of the Restaurant at Meadowood really needs no help from big brother. The open view hearth is the center piece as you enter the interior. Obviously the main idea is to order something from the grill. We opted to share items, so we began with a couple of Hudson eggs (hard boiled, drizzled with a touch of olive oil and some finishing salt) and the chicken wings. The wings change on a monthly basis, and, from what we’ve heard (and tasted) always a must order. Backing up a bit, we did order the small bread as it was only a party of two and literally half the bread came home with us (and the butter). Jumping back, on the next coarse we shared the vegetable bolognese w/rigatoni. It sure why it’s not called a ratatouille, but great flavor and textures. Onto the entrees, we opted for the hangar steak and short ribs. Both of these were good, but the short ribs won hands down. Falling off the bone tender, smoke flavor and juicy as could be. Keep in mind the service is a la carte, so we added one side, which was the Oxnard carrots. Gigantic carrots lightly topped with a fantastic balsamic based sauce (a special that evening). We rounded out things sharing a dessert that had a cracked vanilla merengue over a strawberry layer with an olive oil based custard. Not to sweet with a hint of tartness and the hint of olive oil. Was unsure when our server Christopher suggested it, but were completely wowed. Keep in mind lunch is now offered as well as brunch on Sundays. Lots of choices in St. Helena, but this needs to be one of them.
