Owner description: V. Sattui Winery is a family-owned property located in the heart of Napa Valley, which was founded in 1885 and makes more than 60 different wines with dozens of 90+ point rated wines among its current vintages. It is a stunning, must-see Napa Valley destination for picnics, weddings and events, offering an impressively robust Cheese Shop with more than 200 selections, an excellent Deli directed by Chef Gerardo Sainato, and a Salumeria directed by Stefano Masanti. The sprawling estate includes two-dozen picnic tables nestled beneath ancient Valley Oak trees and tri-level terraces that overlook beautifully manicured gardens and vineyards.

V. Sattui was our first stop on a wine tour we did last summer. Although it was busy, the staff were very fast and efficient on making sure that you always had a full glass in the tasting room.
The market & deli is fantastic! We grabbed a bottle of wine, baguette, dip, cheese & roasted garlic and headed out to the yard afterwards and had a wonderful picnic lunch. We were thoroughly happy with the wine & dipping oils we brought home. Cannot wait to visit again!

This winery was another recommendation and I am glad we went! It has a really fun environment, friendly to families, and the grounds were beautiful. There is a deli there and you can purchase sandwiches or cheese for a picnic. The tasting room was busier than I expected, but we still were able to do the tastings with no problems. They only sell their wine at the winery or online, so you cannot buy it from a liquor shop. We really enjoyed the Gamay Rouge – it is one of their specialties.

I first discovered V Sattui Winery in 1984, when a friend brought me a couple of bottles of Cab Sauv from a trip to Napa. On many personal visits since then, I ALWAYS manage to stop by once or twice. This winery has been making GREAT wine for over 125 years. It's a 7 time "Winery of the Year" winner. So, if you're looking for great value for really good wine, think "V Sattui."

BUT, that's not the only reason to visit the location, right on 29 in St. Helena. The deli and cheese shop are amazing! Stop by and grab a sandwich (love the pan inis) or a salad. Fresh bakery bread or lots of great "to go" options. Enjoy a picnic right on the grounds, or, grab a lunch to go. Either way, it's a great choice!! It gets busy, but the crowds move, and you can always find a picnic table.

Stop here if you want a fun atmosphere and to purchase food to have a picnic. Other than that, it was too crowded for us and the wines were just OK. Not bad by any means, just not for us.

Recently attended a wedding and reception at this winery - interesting facility that worked, with signficant catering required. Daytime visit for wine tasting - great wines, congenial staff. Very commercial, and not a tour.
