Six of us traveled to Napa and spent an amazing three days there. My wife and I stayed in one cottage, my father in law in another, and friends (with their teenage daughter) from LA in one other. The accommodations were excellent - you could not ask for better. The staff was awesome, they seemed to know exactly what we wanted out of the stay and it was an amazing experience. Little things like coming out to the pool with specialty hors d'ouerves and making sure all of us down at the pool had what we wanted, a glass or beer, wine, bottled water. The interaction was not overly familiar, just perfect. If there is one drawback its that you can ruin your dinner on the great happy hour treats they put out at the evening tastings. The breakfast is excellent as well. It was a fantastic stay, and we can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: Look at the website, WCI is on a hill facing east toward Duck Horn Winery. All three room s we were in had great views.

So glad that you folks had a great time. We enjoyed meeting all of you. Your wife in particular is a "hoot." Please tell her that Chef Ryan and I now keep a (small) bottle of Jack Daniels in a kitchen cupboard, for when she/you all return! Tim

This is the 2nd time we have stayed here. We stayed in The Brandy Barn, room 18, which was recently updated. We would recommend this room for size, bathroom, comfort, & view. We will stay here if and when we return to St. Helena.
Dinner shuttle huge plus! Janelle was so helpful with recommendations. Also, we did 2 days of private tours directly from The Wine Country Inn, and both days were fabulous! Tracy was wonderful!! Thanks to all who made our trip memorable.

Room Tip: The view from our room was nice. Maybe the 2nd floor would be a little better. Not sure if they are updated yet...

Thank you for another splendid weekend. Room 12 was lovely with the small balcony overlooking the property. This visit we were able to enjoy pooltime as well as massage treatments in the cabana tucked into the olive grove. (Thank you for offering 60 minute treatments, not the lame 50 minutes commonly offered these days.) We look forward to our next visit!

This is our sixth visit to the Wine Country Inn-we go 1-2 times per year. This time was over Labor Day weekend for 3 nights. This is our "go to place" in the Napa Valley, over the years we have rented houses and stayed at other hotels but this is our favorite; we love the vistas, sitting by the pool next to the vineyards, the breakfasts, the afternoon wine tasting, homemade cookies in the evening and being away from televisions (there is free wifi everywhere--rooms, public areas, and the pool). You can socialize with other guests or not.

The grounds have become more beautiful over the years. This time we were in Room #21 (on the second floor of the Brandy Barn Building) with panoramic views of the valley especially looking to the north. Our last visit we were in Room #26 (hot tub, fireplace, and great views but a story lower than #21). It was too warm to use the fireplace but we only used the air-conditioning one night of our visit. Breakfast was plentiful with many choices; we always bring some of the granola home. Had lunch at our usual haunts--our favorite is the patio under the trees at Tra Vigne. Also enjoyed sitting outside for cocktails and appetizers at Auberge d' Soleil.

To justify all we were eating we hiked at the state park which is several miles north. Only negative is no exercise/fitness facility at the Inn.

Just returned from a 3 night stay at The Wine Country Inn in St Helena. Had high expectations based on web site pix and price paid for room. As we entered the beautiful grounds, our expectations were still high. However, once inside, we found the room to be dated (circa 1970s) and in need of refreshing. No TVs (which I find funny how the owner translates to a "feature"). A good, private location with great views but very overpriced for what you get. Won't consider for our next visit.

Room Tip: Don't stay in the main building because the all rooms are in need of refresh.
