We stayed two nights at the Harvest Inn in September 2012 (Harvest time!). Getting there was easy, the staff was very helpful and polite. Our Spa Vineyard View room was huge and nicely decorated. It was clean and the king bed was extremely comfortable. We sat in our private hot tub on our private patio and sipped our complimentary wine that first night and it was wonderful! There was a wine tasting both nights that we were there and they had cheese, crackers, and fruit to go with it. There was a wedding Saturday night and it looked like a very elegant event. With such a large crowd, I was expecting some noise that evening but we weren't disturbed at all. The grounds are beautiful (love the koi). We would stay here again for sure.

Dear rollers_74,

Thank you so very much for your most gracious comments about your recent experience with us. Fall in the Napa Valley is one of the most beautiful times to be here with the vines heavy with ripe grapes, colorful changing leaves, and the wineries in full harvest swing.

We are incredibly happy that you not only chose to stay with us but had such a wonderful time.

Please think of us again when you are planning your next visit to the Napa Valley! We would love to welcome you back to the Harvest Inn.

My husband and I stayed at Harvest Inn for our 5 year wedding anniversary and we had an amazing time! The staff made our stay so comfortable and had a surprise waiting for us in our room when we checked in. I would tell anyone looking for a place to stay in Napa Valley to stay at Harvest Inn.

We just stayed two nights at Harvest Inn and we were very impressed. The staff was wonderful, helpful and friendly. The entire place inside and out is very well maintained. The grounds were beyond beautiful, with lovely flowers and Redwood trees. We have stayed in many such Inns and this is one of the very best. The bed was comfy, the bathroom was amazing, the shower wonderful. There were no cobwebs on the outside of any of the buildings and not a speck if dust on any surface inside...not on the high up lighting or any of the wood trim anywhere, most unusual... We truly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Harvest Inn to anyone looking for a peaceful, pleasant, and great location.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the road.

Dear luvtotrvl_1,

Thank you so much for taking the time to review our hotel from your recent stay. Your comments and praise are definitely appreciated by all of the staff and management! We are happy to hear that your bed was comfortable, and that you enjoyed our new showers.

Having such a lush property full of trees and flowers can certainly be challenging to keep up, cobweb free, and clean, so are thrilled that the efforts of the team here are noticed.

Harvest Inn looks forward to seeing you back soon, and thank you again!

When our reservations at another inn had to be canceled last minute, they kindly put us up at the Harvest Inn which was quite a bit more expensive than our first choice. I have visited St. Helena many times, but never visit this hotel, so I was curious what it was all about.

The good:
The main house is charming and inviting. There were wine tasting and small bites in the early evening on both nights of our stay, so it was a nice way to ease into the night.
The pool and hot tub was large and relaxing.
The grounds are pretty. You can make your way from one building to the next without crossing the parking lot, if you choose.
The room was huge, and included a fireplace and a very comfy bed. It was fairly quiet considering the proximity to a busy road.
It is easy to find on the main road and only a mile from "downtown" St. Helena.

The meh:
The main house is nice, but the bedrooms are dull in their décor. I tend to like something with a bit more personality, and maybe more modern.
The breakfast was pretty good for an upscale motel type of continental breakfast, but that's pretty much all they offer. It is not on par with "bed and breakfast" caliber meals.
The location of the Inn is convenient if you're traveling by car everywhere, but does not provide a charming stroll to downtown restaurants. The walk itself is not long, but it passes car dealerships and other motels and things along the side of a busy road.
My biggest complaint was that the maid service it really aggressive. They entered our room even when we put up a "do not disturb" sign. And then the morning we were leaving, they went in our room while we were at breakfast (9 am on a Sunday?) which made for an awkward wait while they finished up before we could pack our belongings and shower. I couldn't understand why they would even go in there since I would assume they would need to check on things after we left again anyway.

Overall, it is not a bad place to stay, but I don't think it would be particularly memorable either. And for the price to stay there, I would hope for something more.

Pro tip: If you're visiting during 4th of July, there is a fabulous fireworks show across from the hotel. Pick a spot on the front lawn to lay back and enjoy the show.

Had a great stay at the Harvest Inn with my girlfriend. Warm check-in on a Friday afternoon and was greeted by an upgrade to a Manor Suite. Not too often that happens without requesting it and we were not disappointed. A beautiful quiet property and the suite was a huge, two story, two bath unit overlooking the vineyards---can't get much better. After check-in, noticed the cheese and wine reception just off the lobby. Local wineries provide taste testing each evening, a nice touch! Room was immaculate, wood for the fireplace each night and the best showers this side of the Mississippi--in fact, anywhere I've traveled--and I travel a lot. Breakfast each morning included a selection of fruit, cheese, breads, oatmeal and warm spinach or ham and cheese croissants. She loved her spa treatment as well. A thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing stay--would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

Dear Greg D,

Thank you so very much for your kind review!

We are happy to hear that your upgrade to a suite with lots of space and private views was a pleasant surprise. Having the fireplace on these cool spring nights must have been very nice. And the shower heads in the rooms are definitely great (especially for being low flow!)

From the Wine Country breakfast, to the spa treatments and wine tasting on the weekends, it sounds as though you were able to enjoy a lot of what we have to offer here, and we look forward to having you join us again very soon.

Just finished a weekend stay at Harvest Inn. Overall, a positive experience and we will consider staying here again in the future.

Pros:
Excellent location that is less than a mile from the center of town in St. Helena, yet it feels very quiet and remote. Beautiful, lush, well-manicured grounds. Room was spacious, clean and well appointed. Gorgeous main building with afternoon wine tastings in the great room.

Cons:
The Wine Country Breakfast is a self-service, continental breakfast, so you'll need to go into town if you are in the mood for a full breakfast. Also, the property is quite large, with lodging spread out across several buildings, so not really an "Inn" in the traditional sense. If you are looking for a small, intimate lodging experience, this might not be the place for you. One minor complaint about our room: no double sink in the bathroom.
