The Frenchman who now owns this winery clearly enjoys the theatre of life. His innovative approach to the wine tasting experience and the excellent staff (Anne?) is a great combination that you should have on your itinerary in Napa. We opted for the Crystal room experience. The team couldn't have been more helpful and clearly knew their subject. A great place if you're carting a dog with you too.

Raymond is a quiet vineyard a few minutes off of the lesser known Silverado Trail. We stopped here after booking a tour with the Napa Valley Wine Train. Our tour guide was great and very informative.

Raymond has a great atmosphere, and the focus is on using nature and knowledge of soil to help make the best wine. Those people looking for a vineyard with a different decor or theme should definitely make a stop here. It is a very "unique" place.

Walking up to Raymond you start to get a sense of the quirkiness waiting inside. The fun outdoor park-like area has cute furniture and picture opps. We had a reservation but the place was nuts. We walked up to the counter and got a very fun pourer. There were two of us, so we tried both tastings. We loved them both! Each wine was great. We ended up buying 6 bottles. Afterwards we walked around and looked in the fun rooms in the building. We wish we could have gone in the Red Room as we heard it was amazing, but it was too busy and for members only. Definitely go to Raymond if you are in Yountville!

This is such a fun vinyard. The outside farming area is really hippy and cool, they are completely off the grid. Then you go inside and experience the French luxury. The Baccarat crystal room, the Red Room that is straight out of Moulin Rouge, the mannaquins left over from Napa Gras. It's like no other vinyard in the area. Oh and the wines are awesome too!

Why 5 stars?

This was probably the best wine tasting experience I've had in Napa aside from Hendry. I know a lot of folks in their 20s would agree when I say that a lot of places treat you differently when you look young. It's quite appalling and pisses me off. That doesn't happen here.

The Crystal Room for their Reserve tasting is amazing. Hip atmosphere and they play dance music to liven things up. Our pourer, Mary, was absolutely fantastic. She took it upon herself to educate those around her about the wines. Gary, which I believe is the tasting room supervisor, even took us on a little tour of the room and showed us their "Winemaker for the day" area.

Their Cabs were wonderful. Some better than others. The 07 Generation was smooooth! That's their prize winner right there.

Congrats. You have a new wine club member. Can't wait to come back with some friends!
