Arrived late at night while on a road trip... Front desk was great, entire place clean and nIcely decorated/updated. Room very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good, the pool was fun and even with families surrounding us our room was quiet. A/C worked great and fridge was a real plus. Highly recommend.

For the price I paid through Priceline ($79.99 + tax), my wife and I are quite happy with the overall quality, the convenience, and the location. The room was nicely re-decorated and furnished. A small in-room refrigerator hidden within a handy cabinet/worktable with a coffee self-service tray, electrical outlets to spare for charging electronic devices, free high-speed wireless access, and clean comfortable quarters made our brief stay a pleasant, trouble-free one. Our king-sized bed was very comfortable, and for as close as we were to the continuously busy I-5 interstate freeway, the traffic noises and sights were screened about as well as they could be by several large trees between us and the freeway. I basically agree with Deb M. about the breakfast--strictly Continental. A pancake maker and batter were provided, muffins, bagels, dried cereal, very good orange juice, a bowl of apples, fruit-flavored yoghurts, milk, coffee/tea service were all available on our departure morning. The breakfast area (two large adjoining rooms) was clean, spacious enough, and well maintained. Real stainless, not plastic. Real cups, glasses, and dinnerware, not paper. Real coffee mugs in the room--we sanitized ours to be safe. All staff were pleasant and helpful. No problems during stay. My wife's second stay, my first; we'll use it again when in Sacramento.

Room Tip: Lower room numbers are farther from the freeway and closer to the front lobby and breakfast rooms. T...

We recently had a great stay at the Governor's Inn right next to Highway 5. Very neat, clean with comfy beds, many amenities. Love ceramic coffee mugs and real glass glasses, not plastic!
Front desk folks and other workers were friendly, informative. Rooms quiet -- A/C terrific on a 105 degree day! Also enjoyed breakfast buffet, many choices, including fresh fruit.

Thank you for sharing your review on Trip Advisor. We are super glad you had a great stay with us. We love the ceramic cups too as they create much less waste and it is part of our green initiative. And Sacramento does get hot during August so we are always inspecting our air condition so that rooms are comfortable during those hot summer days.

Thanks again for taking the time to write!

For the price I paid, I expected a more modest hotel and was very pleasantly surprised. I've stayed in much more simple hotels in Sacramento and paid far more. Rooms are large, nicely decorated, and with all the extras. The entire property is non-smoking. Each bed had a choice of three pillows: soft, medium, and hard. Friendly staff, convenient to the freeway. Free shuttle from Amtrak or the airport. The area is light-industrial (Sacramento police headquarters is next door) and might feel a little iffy at night if you're on foot, but if you have a car it will not make a difference to you. Several decent sit-down restaurants within walking distance and a McDonalds right next door. There are city bus stops on the street immediately in front of the hotel if you want to take public transportation downtown.

Thank you for your very kind review. We work really hard to provide a great guest experience. As you are aware, our neighborhood has undergone significant improvements and continues to do so. In about a month or two, a new Denny's will be opening up across the street. We are very excited about on the new landscaping and improved roads. As mentioned earlier, a new light rail station has opened up about three blocks away. We hope to see you again!

I was generally pleased with the hotel. Neat, clean, comfortable bed. Lovely customer service.
Continental buffet could be better - there was no protein, just a lot of breads, muffins, danish, etc. Could have used a basket of fruit - it's California for goodness sakes.

The homeless people next door were respectful although I did worry about my rental car a bit in that back parking lot.

I would stay there again. It was very convenient for my needs.

I got this place from a blind booking through Priceline and couldn't have been happier. Nice rooms, very clean and comfortable, good beds, extremely nice and helpful staff. From front desk through housekeeping, everyone was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was also good. Even though it is right next to the freeway, which gives you easy access to I-5, the parking lot is safe and clean and the building is well-built and well-insulated. You'd never guess you were right next to the freeway. If you're staying in Sacramento, I would highly recommend the Governor's Inn.

Everything a hotel can be. Clear customer centered communications. Great rooms and facility.
Engineered and managed for the customer. Stayed an extra night. Loved the very available luggage carts. Parking even had shade.

Room Tip: I wouldn't worry about room selection at this hotel.
