This hotel is across the street from the convention center and less than a mile -- a pleasant walk--to Old Sacramento. All the staff we met were very friendly and for most part helpful. We asked for a quiet room and got a room that backed up to the elevator shaft, a problem that we did not recognize until we'd stayed overnight -- very noisy. The room was large and very clean, but had several maintenance issues: the bathroom sink was clogged, the heat/AC switched from one mode to the other when you moved the thermostat up or down 1 degree, the iron was cracked and leaked, and the ironing board was broken (would not stand) -- both of these were replaced on our request. I'd probably stay here again, but would avoid rooms near the elevator.
Breakfast buffet was very good.

Room Tip: Stay away from the elevator.

We got a great AAA on a regular room. As well as a capitol view and usable but tiny walk out balcony the room had excellent work space facilities. Comfortable task chair, loads of outlets for gadgets, and work desk mounted analog & digital (hdmi) connectivity to the recent model HDTV. The bed and room lighting were excellent. The bathroom was OK but lacked places to hang clothes and had poor ventilation. External sound insulation was great but activities in the next room were quite audible. The 24/7 fitness facility was closed for unspecified reasons while we were there but they’d done a deal with the Sheraton Grand and I only need to run two blocks to use theirs so no big deal. Hotel staff were very friendly. The breakfast buffet was OK

Room Tip: Cautionary note – there were several cans of peanuts and M&Ms on the mini-bar mounted on sensors...

Nice place with clean rooms. No parking so plan to add that to you bill. The restaurant is good but not great. Breakfast is good and if you are hungry, the buffet has a variety of foods. It is next to the Convention Center and there are a number of good restaurants within a block or two.

Room Tip: Try for a room looking out at the State Capitol.

I stayed at the Hyatt because it was a conference discounted hotel. It was easy to get to, easy to park (even without valet), and conveniently located near restaurants, site-seeing, and the conference center. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the rooms and common areas were nicely designed and clean. The lobby has free wi-fi, and there is a gift/sundries shop on site and a Starbucks around the corner.

The only complaint I have is that the room was very noisy. A vent in the bathroom made it possible to hear everything that went on in the room next door. I could hear the toilet flushing, the shower running, and the person's phone conversations. I felt like I couldn't turn on the news in the morning because I would disturb people next door. The door to the hallway was less than sound-proof, as well. If someone had been near the elevators or the ice machine, I can't imagine how noisy it would have been.

Room Tip: Rooms on the side near the capitol have exceptional views.

Stayed here 2 nights on our way to Napa Valley Superb hotel rooms, massive comfy beds great bathroom. Breakfast is 20 bucks but worth it for the buffet which is very good. Great position for nightlife and broadband is very very good. Would certainly use again

I stayed here for a conference that was held at the convention center. I liked that I could walk within minutes to the convention and that there were plenty of coffee shops and restaurants within a few blocks. (Highly recommended: Chicory, for a quick breakfast, coffee, or lunch; Ella for drinks and/or dinner. Vines, the hotel restaurant, is also very good.) Best of all, Capitol Park is right across the street from the hotel, making it easy to pop out for a walk through the rose garden and Capitol grounds -- a great way to re-energize after sitting at a conference. The gym is clean and well-equipped. The staff I interacted with was genuinely pleasant and friendly. Unlike a previous reviewer, I would recommend paying a little more for a Capitol Park view on a high floor. It's quieter, and the view of the trees during the day and the Capitol lit up at night are relaxing. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: There can be some noise from L street at night. (Not New York level noise, but still some noise.) A...

This Hyatt Regency's location is about as good as it gets in Sacramento -- right across the street from the park and State Capitol building. The hotel wasn't overly pricey but had excellent front-desk service and our king room was very nice. There were plenty of places to eat or get a drink within easy walking distance, but the hotel bar was nice too, and the included breakfast buffet was better than average. I would recommend for anyone who wants great service in a great location without having to break the bank.
