First sign of problems: The desk staff gave us wrong directions to our room and sent us on a wild goose chase. Second sign: Note on the elevator that there was no hot water until the next day, sorry. (Actually, there was hot water--it was a leftover sign.) Third sign: No ice. Went to front desk to ask, and clerk took me into the locked "Mechanical" room (yes, this made me uncomfortable) down the hall and gave me a scoop of ice. He seemed surprised that someone would want ice. Fourth sign: No curb cuts to wheel luggage directly into the hotel. Fifth sign: Thermostat on room's a/c set unchangeably at 75, although actual temp didn't feel that high. Sixth sign: Only protein at breakfast was skim milk; no yogurt, nothing to heat up. Bed was OK. Room was clean, and quiet enough.

Room Tip: Bring your own ice.

Stayed here with our pet cat one night due to home repairs. We were not expecting much, but were pleasantly surprised by a good sized room, and very friendly staff. Booked the pet package online, and was impressed that they actually had a cat "amenity" instead of just dog ones. Would be a decent place to stay for those seeking studio style accomdations, as the room included a small kitchen area, with a full sized fridge, microwave, and fully stocked plates, utensils, etc. Even had a small dining table, plus two comfortable chairs.

Rooms were exceptionally clean and staff was efficient, friendly and helpful. Despite being right off the expressway, location was quiet and yet near sights and shopping.

My husband and I visited Sacramento this weekend for a Convention. TownePlace was on our list of reccommend hotels. I loved staying there. They had a nice kitchen in the room, great for store packable lunch items, and a fantastic continental breakfast. The staff was neat and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. It is in a great location as well, Arden Mall is just down the street.

My wife and daughter stayed in the hotel for a volleyball tournament weekend, My wife expected higher standard consider this is a Marriott chain, but not very happy. She said it is basic for everything and nothing outstanding, the things she does not like are:

- When check in it was not given the same thing when we book online, she was told the shopping package changed and no gift card will be given, instead she was given some coupon, but those coupon are expired already. The gift card amount was credit back when check out after she complained it, but obviously the hotel needs to honor their booking in the first place.

- The house keeper forgot to feed necessary bath room supply, my wife has to request it again.

- wi-fi was not working the whole night.

It sounds not very impressive!

Best customer service ever with Singh at the front desk. He went out of his way to accommodate me for one additional night when the hotel was sold out. His efforts paid off. I've stayed here many times and this is the best service I have ever received. Thanks to Singh for remembering the customer is "Number One"!

I stayed here for a work related trip and it was a comfortable room with a nice kitchenette that allowed me to eat in for many meals. I slept well, was able to bring my dog along, and they had adequate cardio equipment in the fitness room, so pretty much all the comforts of home. The internet connection was a bit dodgy a couple of the days, but got resolved. The location is close to downtown Sac. but is in a quiet area, which was nice for a quick walk to the nearby Starbucks. The complimentary breakfast was good - not the best- but good for being included with the stay. My only complaint is that it seemed the housekeeping may cut corners in their cleaning, during my 5 day stay, they replenished towels, but no real clean up of the room, a quick vacuum would have been nice. Overall though, it was a nice stay and I would go back again.
