The food is always a culinary treat each time we visit The Waterboy. The menu offers a balance of Italian, French, and California dishes that is always a hit when the foodie friends come to town. I look forward to the changing menu, based on the seasonal offerings.

I've been to Waterboy a number of times and would say that it is one of the better dining establishments in Sacramento. That being said, July 3rd's dinner was a bit disappointing in some ways. The food was for the most part up to snuff, but a little heavy on the salt. Some items, like the 6 ounce salmon special seemed high at almost $30. The wait staff did a great job, but the service from the kitchen was really slow. I understand the relaxed French style of dining that Waterboy is trying to emulate, but we waited almost an hour for our appetizers and then another 45 minutes after we had finished the appetizer, for the main course. In other words, nearly two hours had gone by before we got our main courses. That's not acceptable.

You have to be a native or have this place recommended and when you do dine at Waterboy you'll keep coming back. Try the White Anchovy appetizer and then anything on the menu that suits you.

Nice little restaurant with a quaint warm atmosphere. The service was very good and so was the food! I will definitely eat here again!
