“Tasty Food, but Reservations Service Needs Some Work”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 18, 2013

I haven't to Paesano's for a long time, but it's rustic, humble ambience (brick lined decor etc) remains. We had a family member with a birthday and this was her pick. The reservation process was positively uptight and downright discouraging: if we ALL were not there by our scheduled time, we would go on the waiting list. We were also limited to two hours maximum dining time. Yikes! Well, all eight adults and two children managed to make it about when we were scheduled and things just got better after that. The Happy Hour sangria is good, but ask for less ice. The pizza dough ball appetizers and special risotto balls were very good. The pesto cream sauce for the tortellini was good, the garlic bread substantial and yummy. Our waiter was excellent, and provided serving utensils for the dessert, and even a set of tongs to try and scoop out a lost jacket from behind the bench. I didn't try the pizza, but it and the other entrees were all very tasty. Even the decaf coffee was better than expected. The prices here are very reasonable, and with the outdoor patio seating in warm weather, it's a great place to go. Just stay away from the group reservations...

“Great Place”

This is a nice restaurant with a cool atmosphere. I especially love their sangria and pizza! I've also had their salads and sandwiches which are also good.

“Gluten Free Menu”

The pizza was the best I've had. It was large enough to take some home. They also have GF pasta. Will try that next.

“Good food but slow lunch service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 19, 2012 via mobile

I really liked the Mushroom Formaggio pizza from this place. The fried raviolis are also pretty good. My only complaint is the wait. It seemed like it took forever to get our pizzas and pasta. (There was 7 of us.) Our waiter was attentive and friendly which made up for the long wait for our food. I will go back to this place, but I may just call in and pick up my lunch rather than dining there.

“Sweet HANNAH this place is amazing!!!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2012

I no longer live in California, but I visit often, and I can't visit Sacramento without either eating here, or feeling guilty for not doing so!

This place has been my favorite Sacramento restaurant for about 10 years now. If you go here and don't feel similarly, you should go see a doctor or therapist. The menu has items for all tastes; the Happy Hour is great; the food tastes spectacular; the prices are very reasonable; the location is convenient and the parking is pretty easy. (NOTE: If you're in a hurry and want to grab lunch, hit PRONTO (also in Midtown) for a smaller but just-as-delectable Paesano's menu. This is instant gratification. Srsly.

Start with POLENTA FRIES. These will change your life. I can't decide between the two accompanying possibilities: balsamic ketchup or gorgonzola sauce. I just dip alternately with each fry until I feel like a greedy, dirty little orphan. Then I tap my toes impatiently as I await my entree.

You can't go wrong with most anything on the menu. If you enjoy pizza, this place has unique and scrumptious pies (mentioned later). Pasta? Close your eyes and point your finger. You'll be coming back to either explore the next item, or you'll be locked in like a slave to the same item like I was - for years. PORK FUSILLI. Saying it out loud makes my tongue tingle. Eat more than a few drops of the habanero pesto on the side, and your tongue will, too...
Gemelli Spinaci: spinach, bacon, carmelized onion, garlic cream sauce....
Pad Thai?? Why not? This Italian place knock pad thai out of the park!
Potato & chicken pizza? Yep. Greek pizza. Oh yeah. Tequila shrimp & chorizo??? Is this legal?
This is food porn.

You can thank me later. With a gift card. To Paesano's. Message me for my mailing address! ;-)
You're welcome.
