“Little disappointed”
Reviewed August 13, 2012

Went with business associates that raved about this place; had not been for a few years. Peak lunch time but were able to get a table with little wait. Service not so good on this visit; had to ask for chips/salsa three times which baffled us; chips and salsa were great when they finally showed up right before the meal. Got the City Tacos which were great, but don't get as a meal...very small.

“Our favorite Mexican restaurant”
Reviewed July 15, 2012

We love Ernesto's. The food is predictably good (try the Carne Asada--simply the best we've ever had), the service is great, even when the place is packed, and the margaritas are excellent. We come here about once a month and have never had a bad experience or a bad meal.

“Probably my favorite Mexican restaurant in Sacramento”
Reviewed June 19, 2012

Even though it's always crowded, the wait is not long and the service is always friendly and attentive. But the best part is the food. Ernesto's food is great. The sauces are flavorful, spicy (without being too hot), and served just right.

There are plenty of choices and I've never had a bad experience. Ernesto's is great for both lunch and dinner. It's a "Go To" favorite.

“Best thing on the menu for me: Chicken Enchiladas in red sauce!”
Reviewed March 30, 2012

Outstanding. Staff is ok, food is great! Really nice atmosphere. Outside dining on nice days, but inside is nicer. Once, in the bathroom, a hostess used the facilities and we met at the faucet. She passed it by. Yes, she did not wash her hand. I alerted the manager, but not sure what he did about it. Ewww!

“Mariachi Band WAAAAAY too loud!”
Reviewed March 16, 2012

We've been here several times. The bean dip is great with the chips. Food is decent. Service is very fast. However, after last night, we'll be sure to call ahead if we visit here again. Last night there was a 6-7 piece Mariachi Band. This place is WAAAAY too small for this. Diners either sat and ate in silence or leaned across tables to yell at each other to have conversation. It was ridiculous. Meals are a social event.Americans socialize while we eat. That was impossible with this band going. One poor woman had a small child on her lap who looked scared to death with two of the band members directly behind her. She was with a large group or she likely would have left, I'm sure. Seriously, this place was always loud enough *without* the band.
