“Classy and Tasty”
Reviewed December 12, 2012 via mobile

Walked in with no reservations (party of 10). Even with busy dining room, 3 wait staff and hostess quickly put tables other for group seating. Restaurant is decorated very classy, with white table cloth and the feeling of an upscale location. Prices were reasonable and service excellent. I had a steak sandwich with Brie and baked apples. I'll be back. Nice job.

Thank Dan B

“Great Special Occasion Dining”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

Two friends and I celebrated the holidays here and found the drinks, food and service all very good. One gave the martini a perfect score of 10. We can only comment on one entree as we all chose the same thing---Chateaubriand. It was a prix fixe choice for two, but is always available for one or in our case---each of the three of us. It came with soup or salad and either creme brulee or chocolate mousse for dessert. Sorbet was served to cleanse the palate and a small appetizer from the chef was brought out first. Everything was good, but the beef was especially tender and tasty, and the serving was larger than expected. The coffee was excellent as was all the wait staff, and our meal went along at a perfect pace. Before or after dinner one can stroll around Old Sacramento. There was no street parking when we arrived so we used valet for $7 which seemed reasonable. It is a historical building with a long restaurant history, and I was really glad I finally took the opportunity to dine there.

“Elegant fine dining”
Reviewed December 1, 2012 via mobile

Romantic booth. Elegant decor. Great food. Nice location. Excellent service. We celebrated my husband's completion of the spartan beast run with a wonderful meal. We had a nice walk from our hotel along the boardwalk streets of old sacramento. The entrees are expensive but come with nice sized portions and wonderful sides. We had chicken and steak, salad and a wonderful duck confit. we were too full for dessert. It was a memorable experience.

“Our company Holiday party”

I was pleasantly surprised at elegance of this place even after hearing good reviews from friends. Beautifully set room for our event with enough room to move around. Decent portions of fully delicious food.

“Romantic Atmosphere yet Great Food”
Reviewed November 1, 2012

My fiance and I stopped over in Sacramento for an evening while heading up to Portland for our big move from Denver and we had dinner here. It was FANTASTIC! The food, amazing, definitely everything has flavor. Made my palate water for more. The portions were also pretty large, and the energy in the place felt great. It was a very romantic atmosphere as well and the service was nothing less than flawless. Although the prices are on the expensive side ranging from $30-$45 for the main course, if you have the extra money or want a romantic spot to celebrate something special this is the place. We recently got engaged before we left Denver and this place just topped it. Turned out to be a very romantic evening. I recommend the Braised Veal Cheeks for the entree, and the Dungeness crab cakes for an appetizer, they do have a sampler you can try as well. All perfectly paired with a nice bottle of wine from their selection, or two or three.
