This may not be the place to take your inlaws, but it's pretty good. They have put alot of thought into their menu and the design of the place is quite ambitious. The scallop appetizer was very good, and the chownder is not like any I have had in this area, and it was great. The oysters were fresh, although a bit pricey. Also, the brussel sprout salad was a hit.

If I come back I think I will eat at the bar, which is a well designed area, quite sutable for dining.

The wait staff, though, needs a bit of work. They had an attitude about the place and the food which I liked, but they were sometimes hard to get ahold of.

It's a place that gets more crowded as the evening proceeds.

Had an early dinner at Blackbird and was blown away by the entire experience. The place has a chic urban feel that matches the dishes produced in the the kitchen. From the raw menu we had a great selection of oysters and a plate of exquisite arctic char served with caviar and a truffled vichyssoise. The roasted root vegetables were spot on but he Brussel sprout salad with fried quinoa was a textural delight. Our main courses were trout and striped bass and both were memorable. The wait staff and the bartender helped us with wine selections that paired perfectly with each course. Only negative is that the music was way too loud for a place mostly finished in hard surfaces. Wonderful evening!

Loved the food here the first time, not so much this time. Seafood chowder was good but not outstanding as before. Spanish goat cheese, quince paste and chili honey appetizer was a delicious and interesting combination. Trout serving was small, little flavor, accompanying veggie combo should have been great but soso, Pot roast was very good, tender, good sized serving of meat. Service slow. No time for dessert and coffee as we has theater reservations. A good thing. Two glasses of wine, two soups, two entrees and appetizer was over $100!! Very loud music from the bar down below permeates every inch of this place.

Excellent fresh seafood; and other interesting choices. Oysters are best I've had in a long time. Interesting wine list. Different choices not so long as to be pretentious. Wait staff is excellent. Overall this place is a bargain.

Most unusual and interesting food. Seafood chowder is amazing, no other chowder can compare. Had pork belly, so tender. Raw scallops were wonderful. Beautiful desserts-cheesecake. Helpful, informative staff. Excellent french wine on happy hour menu. Staff helped us find where to buy, what to look for, Noisy, not much ambiance but the food makes you forget any issues. We will be back.
