Recently graduated from Arizona State with my MBA and about to take a position in San Francisco. Thought it would be great to take my girlfriend over to California and show her the sights as she's never been. We also hooked up with friends in the Sacramento area to do some rafting and kayaking. Spotted this hotel online and thought we'd give it a whirl.
Place is old and gross. You feel this as soon as you walk through the front door. Girl working the desk on check-out was really into her PDA and kept looking at it while we were attempting to check in. Think her name was Nikki and I'm surprised to read a few of these reviews below who thought she was "awesome". Seemed she had some difficulty figuring stuff out. On to the place itself.
Dirty, smelly, stains everwhere. We were shocked. Smelled funky in the hallways and our room was simply threadbare. Old and used. More stains all over our room carpet. Just horrible. Shower worked OK was about it. Big monster box TV from the last decade. Fuzzy picture. Our bed had stained sheets to add to the rest of the non-clean feeling. My poor girlfriend was beside herself.
We left the very next day and checked into a Marriott.
Thank you for your review. I am sorry that we missed to make your stay more satisfactory. We have property improvement plans in place & will soon begin rolling out first phase that would include new flat screen televisions, furniture, interior & exterior paint and much much more.
We highly value guest feedback as it tells us where we can improve and better serve our guest. your willingness to share your recent experience is genuinely appreciated.
I stayed here for only one night. My room was clean, inviting and the breakfast was quite hearty. The lady at the front desk in the morning (Nikki) was very friendly (not to mention attractive!). If there was one complaint, it was that parking is a little tight and the parking spots are not very large.
As others have said, this hotel is on a noisy, very busy street with lots of industrial traffic going by. Probably would have rated a little higher if we had asked for and gotten a room in the back. Other than the noise room was fine, the bed comfortable and about equal in value to the price we paid.
Thank you for taking the time to rate us. I am sorry we could not allocate you a room facing the back of the building. We will definitely provide you a more quiet room on your next stay.
I really enjoyed my time at the hotel. The price for one night was reasonable and the accommodations were perfect. The mini fridge came in handy. And there's no extra charge for smoking.
Also, I forgot a nice buttoned shirt in my room and they mailed it back to me within 24 hours. Thanks to the receptionist NIKKI! You rock!
I will definitely recommend this hotel and stay in it next time I'm in Sac town.
Was in Sacramento on business and read that this hotel was ranked 7th in the city on Tripadvisor. From that I assumed things would be just fine. Boy, was I ever wrong!
Property is located on a super noisy street just off Hwy 50 in a rather rough and seedy area of town. The parking lot is small and tight. Once you step inside the lobby everything appears old and in need of repair. Speaking of "repair", or lack there of, this was what was "down" in the 2 days I stayed there.
1. Every icemaker save the one on the bottom floor.
2. The jacuzzi.
3. The elevator for a time.
My room was OK in that the bed was comfortable. Spots on the floor and ripped upholstery pretty much outweighed that though. No sheers on the window either. Big old box TV and an absolutely filthy desk chair. Chips all over the woodwork and furniture. Just outside my door the hallways smelled musky..
Fellow by the name of Mandeep was a very personable front desk clerk and helpful during check-in. The same can not be said for NIkki the morning clerk, an employee who is about as indifferent as I've ever seen working at a hotel. Even the little Breakfast Lady was noticed to have been put out by fellow guest's requests for additional items. Maybe if she would have filled the milk containers more than 2 inches at a time... she wouldn't have had to make so many trips back to the kitchen?
More than obvious that this hotel is in dire financial straights with all the non-repairs, monitoring the breakfast consumption, and printing one's receipt on the back of old sales flyers. That's exactly correct. My receipts were on REALLY recyled paper. Asked the cleck about this and she said that Raj, the GM, has not "bought paper in two years".
Lastly in an effort to win the "Good Lord We're a Cheap Hotel" award, they have a sign mounted right above the lobby guest computers that reads... "There will be a charge for printing. $0.50 a copy". This sums up all you need to know about this little gem. Cheap, sad hotel on the verge of collaspe.
Beware or better yet... just keep driving.
Thank you for taking the time to rate us. We highly value guest feedback as it tells us where & how we can improve. We have renovation plans in place to improve our hotel. Soon we will be upgrading to new flat screen televisions, new furniture, interior & exterior paint and much more.
