“Good location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 16, 2014

First I would like to say that the Staff was wonderful, very nice people. This location was perfect for me, close to the freeway and to my nephew's house. The one thing that they did not have was coffee pot as stated on website. I missed my morning cup, and one of the staff offered to buy me a cup, at service station close by, That was Cool. I will be staying here again upon my next visit to Sacramento. Also was no problem with LATE check out, I REALLY APPRECIATED THAT.

Room Tip: Close to freeway and Gas stations, food.

Badly located, room smells cigarrette (heavily, my son complained for hours till he sleep), vending machine broke, unconfortable beds and pillows (I don't remember last time I slept so bad in a hotel Room), noisy, old large tube TVs. I won't return to this place. Never!

Nice place for the price. Staff was nice and helpful. Rooms are nice, but the one we stayed in need some attention in the restroom, there was some mold and what seemed to be rust bleeding though the paint. Over all the stay was great. Place was very quit.

It's across the street from the riverwalk, a 5 minute walk to quaint Old Town, a mile to downtown Sacramento. There are many motels here, but no other offers in room fridge/micro/coffee maker and free breakfast and WiFi. Great TV reception and internet. The owners live on site and take obvious pride in their place (unusual), even if they are a bit standoffish (a cultural thing, I suspect). Flowerbeds, etc. Breakfast is mundane but great coffee there and in room. I always refuse housekeeping everywhere I go (I was here for 5 days), but they replaced my towels, gave me lots of coffee, and were not arrogant about anything. A calm, quiet, comfortable place. There are homeless people everywhere in the entire area, like most places in CA, but they are harmless and this place is perfectly safe. Fast food 1/4 mile walk, but a grocery store is several miles away. Next door are two gas stations/ mini markets. Cute place! NOTE: Don't confuse this ABVI with the ABVI 'downtown' on 16th Street- that place is sickening, but BOTH show up on a search of "downtown Sacramento"!

Room Tip: All rooms face the freeway- I had no noise issue.

Although great location, affordable & am told quite clean; be advised those who are wheelchair bound, or have difficulty with stairs this property has no elevators. Call property to ensure ground floor booking, or ADA accessible room.

After reading reviews on multiple websites I thought this would be a good deal for a $50.00 a night room. I didn't expect alot...after all I was being cheap.

So I made reservations on booking dot com.

Arrival: Okay, the motel 6 next door looked more concerning as far as safety goes. The lady at check in was pleasant and helpful. So far so good....

First room: Okay... due to heat intolerance from health issues I have to have A/C that works well, I try to keep my home as well as motel room no warmer than 66. So upon arrival at room, opened dorr to find AC was on... YAY...right? Stepping into room from 88 degrees outside to find it is warmer inside room...and the AC is on full blast/full cold...was a concern. Went back and traded rooms.

Second room: Entered room, turned on AC which actually had a little more forceful air...that would not cool down...perhaps the AC units should be serviced or replaced. This AC unit also had lots of dirt resting on the vents...by dirt I mean it looked like small dirty pebbles, tiny mud clods... intrigueing as top what/how that got there... however, not intrigueing enough to stay.

Went and asked for money back as I cannot stay here.

Took some convincing, but did recieve refund.

Went a little further down the street, and for 3 dollars more a night, found a perfect room at the Days Inn... see that review! :)

Had booked a room via the internet in Stockton that we had to leave.

Pulled in here at midnight or so. Got a decent rate w/ AAA card. Clean room and friendly desk clerk.

Had a quick pastry thing in the morning w/ a glass of OJ.

Clean rooms, older but repaired as needed. We got in late and it was pretty quiet in the morning so we got a decent sleep....which was GREAT!!! Some motels are crazy loud from 6 am on, so the quiet morning was a blessing!
