“Grand Park”
Reviewed August 30, 2012

the Capitol Park is a grand mile square park surrounding Sacramento's Capitol Building. Lots of beautiful trees, lost of space to sit and have a leisurely lunch. One end has a beautiful rose garden and a beautifully serene War Heros memorial.

“Well kept grounds, pleasant walks...”

...but you'll probably be approached by 10 panhandlers in the course of an hour looking at the trees and statues.

“Beautiful”
Reviewed August 18, 2012

The park is well worth a visit. It's quite large with all sorts of different trees & plants. They also have various monuments dedicated to the military etc. The entire park is well maintained with lots of shaded areas to sit & take it all in.

“Very relaxing walks”
Reviewed August 12, 2012

I took my family here to explore and it is a breathtaking park. There are plenty of walking trails all leading to the State Capital. There are also lots of monuments and displays representing different parts of the state. The Capital is open for tours as well which makes for a simple and cost effective day. You do have to pay for parking around the park, but they accept credit cards at the machines. Also, there are homeless and panhandlers roaming the park but if you are there during the day, they are not an issue. Bring a camera because there are so many good photo opportunities.

“Beautiful Grounds”
Reviewed July 16, 2012

We walked around the Capitol Park grounds late on a Saturday afternoon. There are several statues and monuments on the grounds that are very interesting. If you are interested in California History I would recommend you spend a couple hours walking the park.
