i expected much less from this place but was very happy when the place exceeded my expectations. the room was nice. the bed was not very comfortable but it was OK for one night and this is what i needed. the shower was good. the air in the room and internet connection was excellent. the room was noisy (it is close to I-5) but i was able to get some sleep with earplugs. overall, very good value for the price paid and very close to the downtown area. will stay there again if needed.

We stayed at the Days Inn Sacramento Downtown two separate nights one week apart this summer during our road trip with our dog. We selected this hotel because the Days Inn chain is dog-friendly and reasonably priced. This property location was convenient -- close to the freeway and Old Town. The hotel and room were clean and the complimentary breakfast was good.

But our room the first night was along side the parking lot where some guests were drinking and talking loudly. We called the front desk clerk who got them to be quiet/move away from our window. The second night we asked for a room on the opposite side of the building which was much quieter and the stay was more pleasurable.

Next time we need to stay in the area we will try the La Quinta Inn nearby that is also dog-friendly and about the same price. That property looks bigger, nicer and newer and the rooms are less likely to overlook the parking lot.

Room Tip: Rooms not facing the parking lot are quieter.
