Stayed for a weekend wedding in a one bedroom suite. Very nice, service was good when needed. $25 parking and $10 internet are a bit much, but offset by low room rate. See the tips for how to deal with room noise.

Room Tip: Weekends will be loud if you have a outer facing room. Bars and drunks let out at 1:00 or so with th...

We were very pleasantly surprised by the Boutique Hotel. We traveled to Sacramento in April to visit friends and the surrounding area. Never having been to the city before, we were very please to find such great and friendly service, clean and well appointed rooms that were very stylish, and in keeping with the local (political) theme because the Statehouse is located two blocks behind the hotel. The restaurant and room service were both excellent. In short, I have no complaints. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and both the clientele and the employees are top notch! We have been raving since we got back to Massachusetts about the hotel and we definitely plan on staying here again.

nice hotel, nice property, great hotel restaurant
service good overall, but not as great overnight crew
I would love this place if it were not so noisy.
Friday nights, there is live music across the street in the park.
Even with a "room facing the back" the windows are old and porous to noise, especially the loud amplified music coming from across the street.
Also this is a popular place for locals to have weddings, so if you stay on a Friday or Saturday night there is the additional noise from 2 or more large wedding parties.
Maybe staying on a Monday-Thursday would not be a problem

Another stay in the Citizen, this time with 42 rooms for my daughter's wedding. The Citizen has both good and bad, mostly good. Great location, and interesting political theme with decent service, if sometimes a little off base. The rooms are interesting, but small, with sort of a home made remodelling job. Lots of complaints about noise from the street, particularly nearby clubs. The noise level is a serious issue, and prevented many of our guests from sleeping. The Grange restaurant is good, but priced beyond it's quality.

Room Tip: Ask for a view on a very high floor, particularly on a weekend.

The hotel was nice for a quick one night stopover on the way to the American River. The room was clean, big, and comfortable. The lobby is really cool as are the rest of the amenities. The valets were incredibly helpful especially because we had to make a few trips to the car to retrieve items for our rafting trip. Only downfall was that our mini bar didn't open when we were hungry. The hotel sent someone to check it out and determined it was faulty at the time. I appreciate the gesture..

I would definitely stay again when I am back in Sacramento!

We live less than 20 miles away yet I booked the weekend for my husband's birthday weekend. The location is ideal for Friday Night Concerts in the Park, 2nd Saturday and walking distance from many other museums, convention center, theatre and things to keep us busy; The one-bedroom suite was a good size for a weekend but might be small if we stayed for a week. The staff was very helpful and courteous. I'd recommend the hotel for out-of-towners and locals looking for a get-away.

Room Tip: Ask for a view and higher floor.

I hate to tell you about this place, I would love to keep it a secret. A classy hotel with down to earth friendly staff. Very clean, nicely decorated but user friendly. Join their club program and you get free wifi, wine or sparkling water waiting in the room. The restaurant down stairs is one of the best in Sacramento. Feeling actual sit at the bar and the friendly folks will take care of you.

Room Tip: light sleeper avoid the East side. Speak up when you check in the staff will take care of you.
