Owner description: A Growing Tradition: For nearly a quarter century, our family has been growing some of the finest winegrapes in the heart of the Napa Valley's acclaimed Rutherford region. Home to some of the most famous American vineyards, and some of the most coveted Cabernet Sauvignon fruit, Rutherford is widely recognized as one of the great viticultural regions of the world. Over the years, we have cultivated a nurturing and sustainable relationship with our estate vineyard, which has made our Cabernet Sauvignon prized by numerous esteemed wineries. To make our own highly-rated, handcrafted wines, we have combined two generations of winegrowing experience with the same artisan attention to detail we have learned are essential parts of crafting world-class olive oils and red wine vinegars. Our goal is simple - by remaining true to time-honored traditions we strive to bring you the best the Napa Valley has to offer. We invite you to explore and savor these exceptional, limited-production wines.

We decided to try something other than wine tasting and WOW, Olive Oil tasting is fun and delicious. We had a marvelous time olive oil tasting at Round Pond. The tour and information about the olives was very interesting. The olive oil tasting and pairings were really fun. There were 4 other couples tasting with us and it was a lively time. They offer a number of different oils to taste and we learned a lot about Olive oil. Their oils taste fantastic. It was a really cool alternative or complement to wine tasting for anyone visitng the area. The staff was very knowledgable and friendly. Give it a try..!

My wife and I, along with another couple visited Round Pond for a private tasting and tour.

The tour and tasting were arranged for us by Destination Cellars, a company that excels at recommending for us vineyards and wines suited to our particular tastes. We are grateful for their resources - because we like smaller vineyards and without "D.C." it's unlikely that we would have ever discovered Round Pond. Of note: Round Pond charges a fee, that they waived because we purchased some wines.

Upon arriving we were struck by the long driveway with the (flat landed) vineyards on either side and the beautiful new visitor's center straight ahead. It's clear that Round Pond has a mindset to entertain its guests in style.

We walked in and were greeted immediately by the outgoing and friendly Dana - who showed us to their wine cellar for our first taste and to meet our guide, Kenn. Without prompting, Dana offered to bring us fleece pashminas to keep us warm.

Kenn was also very friendly - without being pushy or sales-y at all. It was clear that he wanted us first to enjoy our visit and the wines...which is what makes for us a great vineyard visit. After the tour, during which Kenn provided great commentary about the wines, winemaking and vineyards we sat down on Round Pond's beautiful terrace. Kenn sat with us a bit, coming and going to let us talk and really take in the gorgeous view of the vineyard during a picture-perfect day (weather was 75 and sunny). By the way, we had a four-varietal tasting with some small-bite tapas matched to each of the wines. LOVE when the vineyard brings a little food to absorb some of the wine!

I won't get into my reviews of the wines...that to me isn't what is important to TripAdvisor readers and it's almost impossible for this amateur oenophile to adequately describe them anyhow.

What I think is important is that readers of this review know the staff, facility and wines at Round Pond made for a very enjoyable afternoon for me, my wife and our friends.

The Terrace is such a relaxing and pleasant spot to sit and do a food and wine tasting that we would have been happy to just stay all day. The Palm lined drive up to the winery is among the best you will see in all of Napa. The wine is excellent and the people there are a pleasure to talk to. Don't miss this winery!

Besides the great wine and olive oil this place has a beautiful terrace overlooking the vineyards that just takes the experience to another level.

We did an olive oil tour and tasting to start off our trip to Napa. Julie was our guide. Very interesting to learn (and see) how the olives end up from the tree to the bottled oil. The tasting was very interesting....we tasted different types of oils with food pairings. Would you think a strawberry or a piece of chocolate would go well with olive oil? It did!! Wine tastings start to all be the same....if you are looking for something a little different while in Napa Valley, you will love this.
