Owner description: When Tony and Herta "H.B." Peju relocated to Rutherford from Los Angeles 32 years ago, they brought with them a vision of building a winery, an unwavering work ethic, and two young daughters who soaked in the couple's entrepreneurial spirit and love for Napa's beautiful farmland. They established Peju Province Winery and dedicated themselves to welcoming guests and to crafting exceptional wines from their organically farmed estate vineyard. Still family owned and operated today, Peju Province Winery has transformed over the past 32 years from a simple grape growing venture into a landmark winery celebrated for elegant, complex, and balanced wines in the classic Bordeaux varieties.

One of my favorite wineries! This is what a winery experience should be like: the staff is laid-back and friendly, yet very knowledgeable. They take you to a tasting room in the back in groups of 10 or so. The pourer doesn't quite follow the set list, occasionally pouring some of their "special" wines (we got one from their library). You can also request particular types of wine and the pourer is only too willing to let you try other wines even if they are not on the tasting list. You also get many more pours than the 5 (I think) you're promised at the start.

They have some delicious reds!

We didn't have this winery on the list of stops but after hearing from others it was a good one we gave it a try! It's a great place to taste "red" wines!! If you are partial to white then you may not want to go..only 2 whites at the time of our tasting.. But the reds are fabulous..very good wine, the grounds are also beautiful with several interesting modern statues. Had a great visit at this one..

This was one of our favorite wineries in Napa. The grounds are very beautiful with variegated types of art and fountains scattered around the grounds. We used the I phone winery app here (which is the way to go for most of Napa - we went to some excellent wineries for half the price). Inside it is almost like an old country church that you would find in Germany or France. There is a gorgeous stained glass window in the tasting room that we were told was purchased from a German church. Additionally, there is an excellent selection of wine and cookbooks available. The grounds and the winery were stunning and unique from other wineries in the valley.

Now onto the wine...we loved it. The Rose of Syrah was incredible and we are usually not rose fans. We brought some back for a friend and had it and then a cheaper rose and the difference was evident. We also bought Provence and their Cab. We liked the wine so much we actually joined the wine club. We would love to be closer to actually be able to go to the winery more but they will send you 3 wines every four months. We found the cost to be very reasonable when compared to other wineries and we also got 20% off of what we bought that day.

I highly recommend stopping into this winery - the tasting experience is very personal and the guide was patient and friendly with all of our questions. It wasn't very busy either, which we enjoyed (we were there fairly early).

Alan was a great wine guide. Very knowledgable and fun. He made raps to explain the different wines. It was very entertaining.

We visited Peju early in the day because appointments are not necessary. It was a wonderful way to start our afternoon, as the service and wine were very enjoyable. The Chardonnay was not on the tasting list for that day, but my friend mentioned that she had tried it in the past and loved it, so the hostess opened a bottle and let us all have a taste. You won't find that kind of service at every winery. We left with a couple bottles, very pleased with the quality of the wine and the friendly treatment. Don't skip Peju; it's not the typical "popular" winery in Napa.
