Call for a tasting since you need a code to enter the iron gate! This winery is owned by Francis Ford Coppola. The building and ground are beautiful! Don’t think for a minute you are drinking cheap wine! The wine is yummy and it is served with cheese and bread. Everyone is very friendly! Lots of history here and you will also learn about the Coppola family! I have been to Napa area many times and this is my new favorite! We visited on a a Tuesday about 1 pm and it was not busy at all.

The history of Inglenook and Francis Ford Coppola’s wine history is on display in this beautiful setting. Looking from the front of the property you are transported to Italy. This hidden jewel is not to be missed. The wines displayed in the private rooms unmoved and heavy laden with dust is an unimaginable display.

The facility reminded all 3 couples of a French chateau. The grounds were gorgeous with a beautiful pool/fountain at the entrance. We had a reservation so they took us right into the tasting room. It was a very cool place - old style, felt like you were in a wine cellar, heavy wood/fabric, etc. we tasted a number of bottles but we’re underwhelmed. However we did buy a bottle to drink that evening at the hotel. Had it not been for the ambience of facilities/grounds I would have rated Inglenook a three.

We were taken to Rubicon known in the past as Inglenook. It is a magnificently landscaped winery with outstanding views. The tasting is $70/person. We were taken to a tasting room. The server was a bit overwhelmed and did not bring a dump bucket until we asked the third time. The wines were good but way overpriced. I would recommend a visit to see the landscape but skip the tasting unless you are familiar with their style of wines.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stop at Inglenook. The Chateau and the grounds are beautiful. This is a historic winery rich in tradition. We enjoyed strolling the museum, as well.

We made reservations in advance for this venue. The wine tasting experience was unhurried and personal. Each party has their own table in which to enjoy the wines offered. Cheese and bread accompany the tastings. Their signature wine, Rubicon, arrived last and it was a perfect conclusion. The tasting cost is a bit more than many of the wineries in the area, but the overall experience was definitely worth it.
