Having purchased and enjoyed John Williams' wines in the UK this trip to San Francisco provided the ideal opportunity to pay a visit. We arranged a tour for two of our party via the internet - thanks to Sally and Jennifer for their help.
We brought the whole family and the children had fun colouring pictures, wandering around the garden, helping arrange flowers, collect eggs and paint apple trees with organic moth repellant (I forgot to get the recipe).
The tasting was free and we were given a very enjoyable potted history of the vineyard, description of the wine we were tasting and a tour of the vineyard between each wine we tried. Our thanks to Rachel for such a wonderful time.
Tip: practise shooting some basketball hoops after a few glasses of wine before you go; there is a prize for the person(s) who get a hoop - only one try. None of us got a hoop so I can't tell what the prize is.
To show how genuine the folk at Frog's Leap are - one of my children forgot a cuddly toy, by the time we got back it was the end of the day and the staff were leaving - they recognised us as we drove up, re-opened the office and got the toy (day two of a 14 trip disaster avoided).
I can't praise the folk at Frog's Leap enough for a great time and I will have many happy memories when I open future bottles of John's wines from the other end.
